This is 1 of the 7 stations (or more, depending on how to count them) which surround Osaka Castle. The castle is so big that each of them has different purposes. This Osakajo-Koen (which means “Osaka Castle Park”) Station is literally “the station to visit Osaka Castle Park,” which is a north eastern part of Osaka Castle. So, this station is the best choice to visit Osaka Castle Park, Baseball Field and Osakajo Hall. But there’s a critical point. This station isn’t a good choice to visit the castle tower of Osaka Castle. You have to climb up a stern slope to get to the castle tower from this station. We had come to the station from Kyoto via Shin-Osaka riding the Shinkansen and the station agent was extremely rude about me having to add fair at a machine after the gate asked me to consult with station agent after tapping my Suica. My wife had not gotten her Shinkansen ticket for whatever reason from the gate and he very rudely, almost shouting, asked ‘why’ repeatedly which was pretty intimidating. He finally simply demanded ‘480’ which I immediately gave him after which he aggressively returned the change to me in the bowl. 0/10 experience. We try really hard to conform to customs and be polite. I am honestly surprised because I’ve never been treated so rudely in Japan with people generally being extremely polite...
