Honestly? Probably the least enjoyable part of my stay at WA. I came here each night of my 5 nts stay at Waldorf, and I’d say they have many places to improve on, from menu choices to food taste to service. The gimmick right now is that they are new and have fancy decor. Beneath that, while the staff are nice, service can be rather slow and very spotty. This includes the night when a managerial lady took my drink voucher and left me hanging dry, either forgotten or otherwise; I then bounced from one staff to another with no one really having a clue on my situation or the power to act on it. Another time, I waited over 5-7 minutes for… soy sauce. I watched the lady eventually come out with a sauce cup but then went to fetch a tray to then deliver it on a tray—this is incredibly inefficient as I cared more about continuing to eat my food that I left sitting for that time rather than the extra tray in her hands.
I’ll skip the part about the menu and why it’s lacking or what I think it should have on it. The cheesecake I had was fine but nothing noteworthy; could’ve been a grocery store cheesecake tbh. The tuna poke bowl though was just wrong imo. They served it with toasted/fried rice and tried to cramp too many differing flavors into it with cherry tomatoes and salad stuff, and it came out tasting like fried rice with some tuna tossed in. I have to say it was the least enjoyable poke bowl I’ve ever had, possibly. I really wish I could’ve commended this place, but my hard experience...
Read more5 stars I stopped by the Waldorf Astoria Osaka this past Sunday with two friends after a stroll through Umekita Park. We originally just wanted to show off the beautiful view from Peacock Alley — but what was meant to be a quick visit turned into a perfect afternoon.
Takuya greeted us warmly at the bar and prepared our drinks with grace and attention to detail. Just as we were about to leave, Brent invited us to try a juice blend he’d been experimenting with (it was delicious), and his enthusiasm for hospitality really shone through.
When one of my friends jokingly asked for three cocktails in red, white, and blue, Brent didn’t miss a beat. He created three creative and delicious drinks — all completely different and beautifully balanced.
One friend even insisted on “no gin,” only to later find out Brent had used gin in her drink — and she loved it. He explained he understood why people often dislike gin and aimed to change her mind — and he did!
What started as a quick look at the view turned into three hours of laughter, great conversation, and some of the best drinks I’ve had in Osaka. I’m still looking forward to afternoon tea, but this experience was already a highlight.
Thank you to the entire team for an...
Read moreI had an absolutely magnificent afternoon at Peacock Alley in the Waldorf Astoria. From the moment I walked in I was struck by the style and elegance of the space — class and sophistication are the first impressions here.
The service was flawless. The staff were always smiling, unfailingly friendly, and clearly passionate about what they do. The bartenders are true artisans, with deep knowledge and obvious pride in their craft.
I only tried a snack — the cheese plate — but it was outstanding: fresh, beautifully presented, and delicious. As for cocktails, I ordered an Old Fashioned and a Whisky Sour. Both were perfectly composed, balanced, and exquisitely served — pure pleasure in a glass.
A heartfelt thanks to the senior bartender, Takuya, whose expertise and welcoming nature made my visit extra special. Also kudos to Brent — his warmth and skill turned what could’ve been an ordinary afternoon into a truly memorable experience.
In short: Peacock Alley exceeds expectations at every turn. If you appreciate refined surroundings, top-notch service, and exceptional drinks, this is a must-visit...
