Hatoba Park — Attraction in Tokyo

You’ll have a ball in Hatoba Park.

This was just a welcome respite, as I was exploring the hustle and bustle of nearby Tsukiji. It pops up out of nowhere as you wander aimlessly down backstreets seeking vistas and shutter snapping opportunities.

The shiny sphere sitting smoothly and serenely juxtaposes spectacularly with the rigid red brick, beckoning you forth along strict lines, that end in a gigantic red monolith, that itself contrasts in a space odyssey with the boundless heavenly sky.

Weary travellers will enjoy this green space as it opens up into the Sumida River, just Northeast of Kachikodi Bridge. A brief slice of solitude can be had at the ample seating, as you recharge the batteries in winter sunshine, and prepare yourself to battle the masses at...

はとば公園 Hatoba Park on the bank of the Sumida River. A lovely park in an urban forest of tall buildings. The highlight is the punctuated sphere artwork in the center of the park.
