Small family run tonkatsu / deep fried pork cutlet restaurant in Tsukiji. A little off the main streets in the area, we were hungry and the place we had originally set our eyes on wasn't open unfortunately. We found this place on a whim, given it's high reviews.
The place is very humble and down to earth. Seems popular with locals and tourists. It definitely has a family-run feel, people are friendly, our table was shared. Good experience if you're visiting and wanting to see something like this.
They had 4 to 5 dishes priced between 1,300 to 1,700 yen with English menus available. Portions are good for the price but we felt the cutlers was heavy and oily, and rice quality not that good unfortunately. Good tonkatsu while deep fried can surprise you with just how light and crunchy the batter can be.
It's a decent place for a hearty meal but we'd recommend trying other or mainstream tonkatsu places as well for a more balanced take...

However, the tempura was covered in sauce, which made it really soggy the second it hit our table. I wish we could’ve just dipped it :(

I really loved the warm hospitality created by both the chef and the older servers. It was very heartwarming. Definitely felt family owned, and the tonkatsu was also really good, very crunchy batters. Prices are super reasonable too. I really felt like I was experiencing a local's lifestyle as many workers would stop by the restaurant quickly as their go-to breakfast or lunch spot before heading...
