Yesterday, I was really excited about shopping at Montbell store. “Shibuya” store was closed by. I become aware of the brand after trekking with Japanese guides in Gero. However i am giving this Shibuya store visit a low 2*. Hopefully management will make some improvements on their staff attitude in general and provide some needed training. Generally my experience yesterday has been met with reluctant stuff to assist with sizes, or provide some knowing of the product, very slow and you will lucky to even get a smile or active/enthusiastic engagement . It felt like a self help supermarket really. Not the outdoor products where specialise keen staff to be found . They might as not be there. Very disappointed for a Japanese store experience , as japan services have been 10/10. Not this place. I have struggled with locating sizes, and ended self searching. managed to buy a few things after unnecessary time wasted. The products are good but it need to mary...

Other than that, there are quite a few showcased stocks of mountaineering goods and wears here and maybe because that, there’s a cool tall climbing wall but I’ve never seen someone actually hang and climb there, yet.
Also, though to my personal interests, there’s an enough space for bike gears and goods but no real bikes and bike staffs for cyclists unlike the Minatomirai Store in Yokohama or the Grandberry Park Store in Machida, thus? no parking space for bikes, either, and that’s a...
Read moreI’ve always worn Montbell, from the streets and ski fields of Japan, to the mountains in New Zealand and Africa. The quality and Asian fitting is wonderful, no doubt about the quality.
Must say that the service quality of the Tokyo branches are just utterly disappointing. I’d made a reservation for a technical fleece to be picked up at the Shinjuku branch, and the only staff around looked up at me approaching and quickly looked down again. When I spoke to him, he looked utterly disinterested and even irritated to have to serve me. None of the greetings were uttered when I left. Absolutely disappointed that management has allowed this kind of shocking service (had a similar encounter at the...
