Brought in a print to have it mounted and framed. Got some help choosing a frame, and the clerk suggested that the separate board with the details of the limited edition number be included in the frame behind the print. I agreed. Went back to pick it up, and that's when things started going wrong. Was told to wait in a line of chairs, and was then told 20 minutes later that I should be going to the cashier. Another 10 minutes in line this time. When it was my turn, I was served by the same clerk who told me I should go to the other line - very annoying as he could have helped me from the start. He showed me the framed print, which looked good. However, when I got home I found the extra board just sitting in the bottom of the box beneath the framed print. I called them up. They were apologetic. They told me I could put it in myself, but the board was thick and seemed to put a lot of pressure on the back of the frame. I told them that the initial suggestion had been made by the staff. I asked if a notation had been made on the work order. I asked why the person who did the framing didn't ask what this extra board was to the person who took the order. I asked why I hadn't been called. No answer to any of these questions, just typical empty apologies. The woman on the phone asked me to bring the print back. I pointed out to her that, as I had had an accident the previous year, walking was quite painful for me, and if there was another solution. None - I guess they don't do shipping. I went back. The clerk that day was very helpful and fixed the problem quickly.
The problem could have been caught, and solved, at multiple points. Had the framer asked about the board, or called me about it, the problem would have been solved. Had the framer left a note inside the box, the problem would have been solved. Had the staff member who showed be the framed print taken it out of the box to check, the problem would have been solved. The clerk who I dealt with finally at the store simply said it was policy to return any extra things in the box. Yeah, but why not think about why they are there in the first place? I'm unhappy that no one seemed to care enough while the job was being done the first time, and at having to go all the way back there on a wrecked hip. As it is, it looks great on my wall, but it could have been...
Read moreHorrible experience, I’ve been basically scammed! I don’t know what the cashier was on about but yesterday I bought items for 4112 yen. I gave her a 10k bill and 112 yen in coins. Suddenly she said something to me, me obviously not understanding I tried to figure out what she was asking of me because all I needed was change back and I already told her I didn’t need a bag. She had a nonchalant attitude, kept on just repeating herself without trying to explain it further until I understood that she told me I was 3000 yen short. I was extremely confused and told her through my translator app that I gave her 10k. Again with her very nonchalant and unfriendly attitude she shook her head, opened the register and laid outlet 1000 yen with the 112 and told me that’s what I gave her. The bills look extremely different, while 10k is all beige and yellow-ish the 1000 is blue, purple and I most definitely knew what I gave her because I didn’t feel like handing out small bills (big mistake apparently). I was SHOCKED to say the least, she was really rude about it too and was like “nope nope nope whatever you say I don’t care” (that’s the feeling she gave me anyways). I felt extremely uncomfortable and even though I knew what I paid I still didn’t have any evidence so in my shock I even gave her another 3 thousand!!! So I paid 14000 yen for items that were worth ten times less. Just when I went home to the hotel I found the receipt and she typed in I gave her 10k!!!!! She typed in the correct bill but demanded I gave her 1k!!!! She made me feel so dumb and I didn’t want to make a fuss about it, the store was full, the lineup long, I just wanted to leave because she made me feel so small with her attitude. I was so mad she scammed me out of all that cash. If I didn’t have plans to leave the city already I would have gone back to the store and demanded my money back.
Be very careful, mind your cash! The cashier I’m talking about worked in September 4th around 6pm and had...
Read moreA wonderful place that you must visit in Tokyo. For artists, Sekaido has a lot of art supplies for you to choose from. Most probably you can get what you are looking for. Here's are some tips for you. Firstly, I don't recommend you to buy imported foreign art supplies in Sekaido, as I found that the price was similar to that in HK,maybe buy it in European countries will be cheaper. Secondly, I REALLY REALLY recommend you to buy Japanese paints in Sekaido as it is a lot cheaper and Japanese paints are gorgeous!(especially for Holbein watercolour ❤)There is a wide variety of paints , including watercolour, oil, pastel, gouache(especially for Nicker, a Japanese brand) and more. Thirdly, I recommend you to plan half a day to stay in Sekaido so that you can have enough time to search for your favourite items.😆 However if you are not interested in any art-related thing, I still recommend to go there.Because you will be surprised by the large quantity of stationery items, like washi tape/decoration tape and pens and other amazing Japanese inventions too! Last but not least, Sekaido offers about 20% DISCOUNT⭐️It makes the items more affordable(although the initial price is really cheap comparing to the price in HK). Hope you a nice...
