Visited Tokyo during winter, I really appreciate the warm hotel room & shower room, instant heater & water tap (always at the appropriate temp). Note: These were some stuff which not all Airbnbs can provide. This hotel provided good quality shampoo, conditioner & body gel (Pola brand) and their house brand of face and hand soap. Edit3 by Yitengjiujiu: the water pressure by the shower head, considering we are on the 18th floor, is fantastic. There is an air purifier/ humidifier in the room. Though room is not too big (15sqm which houses a double bed), it accommodates 2 pax well. Shinjuku Prince Hotel has many rooms so the chance of early check in is high. The building is easily recognisable as the tall red brick building in the vicinity. Nearest metro exit is Shinjuku Station, east exit B13, hotel is a short walk away. Note: Shinjuku station is crowded, large & has many exits. May be easier to walk outdoors & rely on Google map if you are unable to locate exit B13. Our room 1839 had a direct view of the Godzilla on top of Toho cinema. Other pros of this hotel includes proximity to the Shinjuku station (where you can board the bus to the airport), great pillow height & hardness and comfy bed. The sound proofing is not the best as we can hear the sirens from the road and also our neighbours. We had a minor issue with the room TV and the hotel staff was super apologetic and went above and beyond to handle it. Recommend to check out the ramen & food street (Omoide Yokocho) near hotel . Note these local eateries are narrow and may involve narrow steep steps to reach the place.

Location is good. It’s about a 10 minute walk from Shinjuku station, which has several subway lines. Rooms are relatively big and clean. Breakfast was decent. I’m giving a 2-star because this hotel has one of the WORST concierge service. Incident #1 - we wanted to go to a yakitori place for dinner. The lady circled the restaurant on the map and wrote the name in Japanese. However, the area she circle was not the restaurant. She also said, “it’s either level 3 or 8, I forgot.” Incident #2 - we wanted simple sushi & sashimi. A different lady drew a big circle of the area and said the restaurant is around here. She also wrote it in Japanese and had to ask her to spell it in English (just in case). After an hour of eating, both my partner and I had stomach aches and had to run for the bathroom. Incident #3 - we understand that check out is at 11am. We asked the concierge if they could help us book a restaurant before we fly out that same night. A different lady refused. She even checked with her manager and he said they couldn’t do the booking for us. We asked the lady to call the restaurant and we would do the booking ourselves. She supposedly called the restaurant and then told us they don’t speak English and they are fully booked. I knew it was not true, because I spoke to the owner/chef before. Anyways, we ended up doing the reservation ourselves.

This place is all about location. Otherwise would not stay again. - incredibly hard to ‘order’ extra amenities- it’s supposed to be through a site or QR code and wasn’t working for me. - cleaning staff LEFT OUR ROOM OPEN aka propped open by the lock when we came back!! This was hours after cleaning in late afternoon!! I was horrified except we had our valuables with us. - this place is TINY. There is zero floor space to open a suitcase. We had to slide under the bed and take turns pulling ours out. - the reception area is not on the first floor, it’s in the basement. I wouldn’t have thought this was an issue until I experienced it. A few times I wanted to wait for my son in the lobby but there’s nowhere to sit. At all. - dirty and rundown. The carpet in the hallway is buckling and looks like a blanket. The sink is crusty. Pics included - there is a step up into the bathroom which is built like an airplane bathroom- stubbed my toe on it many times - it’s Japan - they had no matcha in the room - no room Service For the price, which isn’t budget but just average, I would have expected more.

Location is awesome, access to restaurant/shops/nightlive/bars etc all in short walking distance, aswell as the trainstation. This is perfect for tourits first visiting Tokyo, as everything is near and easy accessible. Staff is friendly and helpfull, there is a Sports Bar that servers Pizza/Pasta, aswell as a posh evening dining restaurant on the top floor. Breakfast is a international/asian buffet, and can be recommended as food is good and price fits. The Room itself is average size, however keep in mind that in Tokyo, room space in general is rather limited. Room itself was well maintained, clean and nice. Will return to this hotel next time when I'm in Tokyo, mainly because you cannot beat the location for the price it offers. For the ones out there that look for a quiet place to stay, this is not the hotel for you. The Train runs next to the hotel (while hard to hear it, as the room is quiet well isolated, you still notice it) and there are alot of illuminated signboards in the area.

First time staying at this hotel but not in the area. This is located next to the train station and is close to almost everything esp the nightlife and eating restaurants. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The rooms and hotel is very clean. The WiFi is fast and the rooms are small like most Japanese hotels. The only negative issue I had was it was February but the air conditioning was not on and you couldn’t open any windows. It never got below 73 degrees in the room ugh. I was told that house keeping controls the air conditioning. The bed was very soft and that’s ok if you like a soft bed but I don’t and of course you can’t please everyone in that department. I would definitely stay again if the air conditioning is working. Also, if you are day sleeper there is a BIG tv screen across the street which is loud in some rooms but it’s quite at night
