I recently went back home in Japan with my daughter. We had a privilege to use the Sky Lounge at Haneda before our flight back to the States. We were having some food and drinks here and there and an hour or more later, a couple of sky lounge staffs came over where were were sitting and asking and confirming who I am. I got scared thinking if there is any problem with my flight or passport because our flight schedule was a mess from the beginning by delay and cancelation. I said yes to who I am, then, one staff said, "I noticed it is your birthday tomorrow. This is a little celebration from us, Happy Birthday..." and he handed us a plate of assortment of sweets decorating beautifully. I don't know how they keep tracking which one is me and where I am sitting and if I am still there....that was very impressive and made my day and made me NOT wanna leave this awesome customer service of Japan and go back to the States. When we left the lounge to get to the gate for the flight they gave me a card with the picture that they took with the gift with a sweet messages. Thank you, Delta Sky Lounge in Haneda Tokyo and all the staffs whoI plan this surprise. I am sure I will NEVER receive that service level of customer service anywhere else ever. We miss you and hope to...
Read moreFor lounges accessible through airport lounge passes, this one is ok. The way they setup the chairs, they all face the runway with a panoramic view of Tokyo skyline in the distance.
The lounge is also referred to as the Tiat lounge as per my dragon pass app. It is centrally located upstairs as soon as you exit security checks.
You have your usual hot and cold drinks. There is a beer tap as well as a selection of spirits (e.g. Jack Daniels, Smirnoff vodka) and wine that you help yourself to. We didn’t have any alcohol because it was a morning flight.
There is a small selection of food items. You cannot expect gourmet food but what was offered was good quality hot and tasted okay.
Like with anything in this world, there are certain things that are outside of the control of the establishment namely the customers. One lady was talking loudly on FaceTime with her daughter. Another played music on their phone without a headset. This is common courtesy for other guests using the same facilities. The Japanese people are so polite that I don’t expect them to go in speak to these customers.
In summary, as I have a lounge access pass this lounge is perfectly adequate and comfortable. ...
Read moreAttempted to use Priority Pass (PP) to access Sky Lounge South but it was at capacity. Went here and was told it only accepts PP between 1-5am. I check the website and they’re right but it’s not at all clear on the page, evidenced by the constant flow of people walking up to the counter with their PP card.
Paid the 4400¥ to access as I really needed a shower after a long day of travel, and before a 9 hour flight.
The lounge is basic but was super quiet when I visited. Maybe 6 others when I arrived, and perhaps 12 by the time I left.
The shower was fine—small, outdated, but adequate.
The food selection was crap. 2-3 hit options, plentiful cup noddles, a few snacks and sweet options. But, again adequate.
There were more drink options including hot drinks, soft drinks, and a few alcohol options. The beer pouring machine was fun.
Seating was plenty and perfectly comfortable. A range of arm chairs and benches along the window.
If the place had been slammed when I visited I’d have really hated it. But it proved a quiet place to relax pre-flight, have a bite to eat,...
