Uniqlo Tokyo Ginza is a global (largest) flagship store consisting twelve floors of men women and children fashion clothings.
After having explored 11 floors of clothings, you can sip a cup of coffee at the first ever Uniqlo coffee shop on 12/F. If you cannot find a seat to enjoy the coffee, then you still can explore the Uniqlo customisable lab (UTme!) where you can choose a cool T shirt from a huge collection. Well, how about buy some flowers for your loved ones at the Uniqlo Flower stall or have an aerial view over the huzzle buzzle Ginza shopping district.
When we walked in the front entrance, we immediately attracted to look at the phenomenal cool display installation. A long row of Uniqlo T shirts and shirts (I think Uniqlo will change the display items to socks, skirts or other merchandise periodically) were hung on an overhead rail mechanism and swayed vividly from side to side like a T shirt robot dancing happily on a bright lit glass enclosed stage. I suppose It was a cool design installed to welcome everyone coming into Uniqlo.
We began our shopping spree from the ground floor (everyday wears) and shopped our way up all the floors by the escalators. However if you have the patience to wait for the elevator hidden at the back of the store on each floor, then go for it. We did not take the elevator from the 12/F, cause it took so so long to wait in lines and it was in fact faster to go down in escalators. Need some exercise after a big shopping spree though.
You can choose from a humongous collection of pop culture to Disney character graphic design T shirts. They are all uniquely designed by the Uniqlo design team. I bought a black T shirt with a cool Mt. Fuji image printed on the front. Even though you don’t find any T shirt here, however you can still explore and appreciate this visually pleasing UT Me floor.
If you like a pattern or logo to be embroidered onto your newly bought T shirt or bags, then go up to level 5 and choose your preferred patterns for the embroidery order. But my friends told me that they need to return and pick up their shirts and bags the next day due to the overwhelming orders.
One more attractions in Uniglo: if you want to take a cool souvenir photo to take home, do not hesitate to go to the Photo Booth on 5/F. In order to use the Photo Booth, you need to spend 1500 yen or more on T shirts or sweat shirts. No sweat for sure you can spend 1500 yen on shirts. Anyway you can choose a collection of themed wallpaper and background for your photos. An indifferent souvenir to take home for memory.
We also stumbled into the Custom Order Salon on the 10/F. It is a distinctively personalized made to measure service offered at Ginza branch. We were running out of time at that point, maybe next time.
Last but not least bring your passport to the tax free counter to claim tax returns.
How to get to Uniqlo Ginza: 4 minutes walk from Ginza station Exit A2. 9 minutes walk from Yurakucho Station 15 minutes walk from Tokyo Station (handy to shop at Ginza after the shopping spree at Tokyo Station or vice versa). Shop...
Read moreIt was very bad experience. I am a loyal customer of Uniqlo for many years. In Europe Uniqlo is much more expensive and so I decided to buy a lot whenever I am traveling in Japan. I took close to 10 items to try on and the staff on the 12th floor - collorabortion section (a Japanese guy with a mask) in the fitting room pointed out that only five items are allowed inside your private fitting room. I started choosing five items which I want to try first and it was not very convenient for me as I have to hold the basket and meanwhile pick items. The same staff did not only help me and I heard he laughed at my situation as if it's ridiculous. So I went into my fitting room with five items, putting the rest in a basket right outside the door of my fitting room. I finished trying the five items only in 3 minutes and intended to swapped some unwanted items with the ones in the basket next to my fitting room to try them on next. The same staff commanded me to step out of the fitting room immediately and to go back to the end of the long queue outside to queue up again to try the rest of items. I was literally shocked by this request as I have never encounted such a policy (you have to queue up again and again if you have more than the max allowed number of items to try on) at any Uniqlo store in the world. I asked him to show me the policy and he refused to do so. So I asked him to bring the manager of the store and he kept commanding me to step out of the fitting room immediately with very rude attitude. This behavior is really unacceptable and also stupid for Uniqlo business as you don't piss off your loyal customers in this way.
I had terrible experience in this Ginza store: the shop is so crampped everywhere and the staff seems very rude which is so not Japanese culture. I am very disappointed at the experience and would not recommend anyone to visit this Ginza store. There are plenty of other uniqloe stores which offer much better shopping experience and...
Read moreThis lady is working at 10th floor Men’s section today (21 September 2025). I was here today around 3pm. She was rude and impolite when she approached me when I was accidentally separated with my friend at the escalator. She literally wash away the image of Japanese culture which is polite and helpful. I’m aware that the area of escalator was narrow that why I immediately standing aside to prevent I’m blocking other people when I saw my friend accidentally went down to another floor from escalator. This lady didn’t even reassure me however she seem like asking me to go away and don’t block the way (she speak Japanese to me, wearing mask and with the body language which shown go away! Go away!). I explained to her that I didn’t know blocking others because I was standing aside and I’m separated with my friend however while I talked she is not even bother to stop and listen. She chose to walk away and continue her duty. When I go up to the escalator, she even staring at me. I decided to approach a lady (European look) at the cashier counter and I told her the whole story. I don’t know this European lady did told her my concern or not. If she did, the green shirt lady did not even initiate to apologize to me when I proceed my payment because I literally standing 2 counter away from her and she doesn’t have any customer to attend with. Meanwhile, the European girl was next to her also. Horrible horrible and it really...
