This Pokémon center was so disappointing, I don’t know what Americans did to it since the photos online from a year and 2 years ago are all completely different. One thing in particular was EVERYTHING was blue -- the (fake) staff were all wearing blue, all of the Pokémon toys were blue (see photos) that I don’t know if this was supposed to be American Disney’s seaworld getting revenge on Japan or whatever the meaning is supposed to be. Besides being harassed by (fake) staff who were extremely rude multiple times, the selection of plush toys are really limited that the floor immediately below with a store named after a certain unnamed Asian country and unnamed US state surprisingly has more Pokémon plush toys and merchandise that I thought it was supposed to be another floor of the official Pokémon store (it’s not and it’s a completely separate store). The plush toys are also surprisingly lower quality than expected - 3rd party sellers sell better quality Pokémon plush toys for the same price (see: unnamed major discount store). It’s really strange and I doubted that much of the products were actually official Pokémon merchandise at all since they were really unappealing items that I don’t think anyone would actually buy, plus the rude treatment, the entire place seemed like a knockoff of an actual Pokémon store - the ones in Tokyo are probably much better.

EDIT: the (low quality) plushies even say they’re from year 2019 and made in China, what a...

This was my first ever experience with a Pokémon center in Japan. I was by myself this day - and luckily I read that it was a little difficult to find. They were right. From Google maps, I knew it was on the 8th floor of this building - but finding the right way into the building probably put me at a disadvantage. It was my first day in country - so I was still getting used to my time zone and (attempting) to speak Japanese. (yes, I learned some before I came to Japan!)

I wandered around - what I think was the first floor...until I found some tiny elevators. Since it is on the 8th floor....let's try it!

Craziest thing...the doors open - and there - PIKA!!!! My beloved Pokémon!!!!

I was so happy that I was by myself, and I could take my time looking at all of the cute things (which we don't have in America). I knew I was going to more centers in Tokyo city (which are totally WAY more crowded than this one) so I didn't stock up on a lot of merch. I did come back later with my husband to show him how I found it all by myself!

(I did find the big Pokémon Center sign on the other side of the building when we came back the...

This was one of the worst experiences we have ever had in my over 70 years on this planet! This was truly an example of Japanese jobsworths. “ You can’t get here from there” We made a special trip to this Pokémon Centre in Yokohama as we were looking for something for our grandkids! When we got there, we tried to enter but we were told to get a ticket. when we got the ticket we were told it was the wrong ticket. We were so frustrated we simply ignored them and walked straight in which created a physical confrontation. One of the greeters pushed me, he was very lucky as I am a martial arts master but resisted the temptation to throw him across the room! After almost half an hour of arguing, using Google translate – which in itself in another circumstance would’ve been a comedy – constantly being told “ you have to follow the rules “ … we decided to leave very very frustrated as we had not been able to even look around, which was all we...
