Magic Island Beach is the family friendly beach choice in the Ala Moana area. It is just the right size for when you need to keep an eye on your children. The water was clear. It is such a beautiful spot. You have views of Diamond head. We had a wonderful time here. We caught ‘The Bus’ here. It was about a 5 min walk from the bus stop. But if you drive, there are plenty of parking stalls (Spots) You can have a picnic on the grassy area. There are restrooms too, which is always handy when you have children with you. We will definitely go back to this beach as it is not as crowded as the main beach in Waikiki.

A must do for anyone visiting Honolulu with small kids. The beach is designed with a wall of rocks to break waves and ensure the water is calm. It’s crystal clear and there’s amenities available (toilet, shower, change room etc). The water stays shallow til quite far out, we even managed to find a sunken boat about 3/4 out with tonnes of fish around it. Bring a snorkel if you have one! Getting there is easy by bus, a 5/10 minute walk from the stop and there’s plenty of free parking nearby if you’re driving.

Nice peaceful spot for the kids to swim. Not many people here compared to down the block by Hilton area Beach. We prefer these lagoons over the busy overcrowded beaches. There is plenty of FREE parking and a nice park with walking / running paths leading to the lagoon. Great views at sunset, and chances are you will catch a couple getting married and taking some pics!! Enjoy!

Great little part of the Ala Moana Park that extends out into the ocean. The grounds are amazing, they're well maintained and very photogenic. The lagoon at the end of Magic Island is the best part. On a calm sunny day this place is great to relax. It's not where near as Crowded as Waikiki beach and the sea walls make the water calm which is ideal for children.

The best spot on Oahu. Ideal for walking, running, swimming, biking, fishing, rowing, yoga, sparring, surf, paddleboard, you name it. You will see seal, turtle and plenty of cats here. Beautiful anytime of day, with occasional double and triple rainbows! I got married in the middle of Magic Island and it will forever be my favorite location on the island

Description
Magic Island is a small man-made peninsula in Honolulu, Hawaii, adjacent to Ala Moana Beach Park and the Ala Wai Yacht Harbor. It was created in 1964 as the site of a resort complex, but was subsequently converted to a park. The name was changed to "Aina Moana," but the new name is used infrequently.
