My brother and his construction crew often eat and drink here, as he has lived in Waikiki for the last 20 years. He suggested my wife and I go and check it out. I walked in and made reservations for my wife and I, the hostess asked for my name and what time, as I gave her my info, I asked also if we could request to sit out on one of the small balconies overlooking the harbor, she said well there is no guarantee, but I will put in a note for the request, ok no problem (feeling good that she at least made a notation of it) We were staying at a very nice Hotel next door , so this was quit convenient. We arrived that same evening for our reservation, the hostess seating us (different girl than that who made my reservation) sat us far to the back of the restaurant, on an elevated part of the floor, the entire restaurant is quit dark, as its obvious they are trying to create a dining ambiance, but as we were shown to our table, I grew anxious to ask if they could honor my request to sit at a balcony table...then this is where things fell apart for us, I asked if there was any chance to sit at a balcony table as I requested,...before I could finish the last word of my sentence, she abruptly, and aggressively said "NO YOU CANT, YOUR SITTING HERE, THE WAIT IS 2 HOURS" , really startled at here abrasive attitude, I asked if we could wait or come back...she again said "NO YOU CANT" .. and quickly walked away with no inclination to try to work something out. My wife and I sat there a few minutes and pondered the aggravated persona of this girl, and wondered why we couldn't even wait longer for a balcony table. So we got up and left the restaurant. Pretty amazed at the lack of communication, and lack of thoughtfulness and not even trying to accomodate us. We would have stayed and ate dinner there if she could have at least made a little bit of an effort to honor our request, even if ultimately we couldn't sit at a balcony table, we would have stayed if it were not for her poor communication with us both. Will never go here, will never recommend this place, and after explaining this to my brother, he will not take his construction crew there anymore. Plenty of other establishment to...
Read moreI recently had the pleasure of dining at Chart House Waikiki, and I must say, it was a delightful experience. Located right on the water, the restaurant offers stunning views that perfectly complement the fantastic food and exceptional service.
From the moment I stepped inside, I was greeted warmly by the staff, who exuded a genuine aloha spirit. The ambiance of the restaurant was inviting, with a relaxed yet elegant atmosphere that instantly put me at ease. The interior décor was tastefully done, combining modern elements with a touch of Hawaiian charm.
Now, let's talk about the food. The menu at Chart House Waikiki boasts a wide variety of dishes, catering to different tastes and preferences. From fresh seafood to perfectly cooked steaks, the culinary offerings were top-notch. I had the pleasure of trying their signature dish, the Macadamia Crusted Mahi Mahi, and it was simply outstanding. The fish was tender and flaky, while the macadamia crust added a delightful crunch and subtle nutty flavor. Each bite was a true delight.
Not only was the food excellent, but the service was also commendable. The staff was attentive, knowledgeable, and always ready to assist. They provided helpful recommendations and were prompt in fulfilling any requests. Throughout the meal, I felt well taken care of, which enhanced the overall dining experience.
One of the highlights of dining at Chart House Waikiki is undoubtedly its breathtaking location. The restaurant offers panoramic views of the Pacific Ocean, with waves gently crashing against the shore. The sight of the sun setting over the water created a picturesque backdrop, making the dining experience truly memorable.
While my experience at Chart House Waikiki was overwhelmingly positive, there were a few minor areas where improvement could be made. The noise level in the restaurant was slightly high during peak hours, which might affect those seeking a more intimate dining experience. Additionally, some menu items seemed slightly overpriced, but the quality of the food...
Read moreI came because of the reviews, but did not experience the four and a half stars t other guest spoke of. We had 2 reservations there were 4 in each party. Somewhere the waiter assumed we were sitting together and prepared a table for a party of 8. When asked why this choice was made there was no answer. But when asked would we get charged the 20% up charge for a party over 6 the answer was yes. It went down hill after that. After much discussion we were place in a smaller area at separate tables as the reservations had been reserved. We arrived at 737p and was finally seated at 808p, after the switching of tables it's now around 825p. The waiter, I believe was Steve, began the process of taking drink orders. Since it was getting late and we had already looked over the menu we went ahead and placed our appetizer and main meal order. For the next 30min we were left to observe how neglected we were. We also had time to observe other tables being served, which had arrived after us, how sticky the tables were where we were seated and the lack of attention we received. Finally our appetizers, soup and salads began to arrive, but before we could enjoy, the main meals quickly followed. When I think of fine dining capped with 4-1/2 stars I expected linen, wine glasses, friendly atmosphere, a clean dining area, polite and willing to serve waiter/waitresses and what the Chart House is famous for. I did not get this experience. We were celebrating two Birthdays in our party. Needless to say we could have went anywhere, we chose your establishment. The meal itself did measure up. It was tasty, served hot and well seasoned. For some in the party it was a 1st time experience. Sad to say they would probably choose another restaurant...
