Favola — Restaurant in Borneo

Very disappointed. We ordered a “Life is a Celebration” set dinner for 7 people. This restaurant didn’t serve like fine dining.

Starting with our bread (2 choices)-BUT you are not allowed to choose what you want. The waiter said finished.

Main course(Beef)- you are not allowed to choose your own preferences ( how you want your beef....). The waiter told me in this set dinner-all beef have to be well done. (Unbelievable! Beef lover-you know what I means)

Dessert- most of our desserts came with “melting” ice-cream and different timing plus missing things for 2 people. (7 of us ordered the same desserts)

I do understand “you get what you pay for..” I knew this is a set-dinner with cheap price RM140/ RM190(with flight wine). However, this fine dining is not what I expected like after reading all the reviews. Especially the writing plate for the surprise birthday!...

We were pleased to dine at your restaurant and acknowledge the skill and care with which the chef prepared our food. However, we did experience some delays in the service of our main courses, specifically a wait of 50 minutes between the soup and main courses. Additionally, the lamb shank and steak were not served at the ideal temperature, but only 30-40 degrees celsius, which had an impact on the flavor of the dishes.

We understand that there may be challenges when serving multiple tables. Due to time constraints, we have to take our remaining food to go while still feeling hungry. We also placed an additional order, which was requested to be delivered to our hotel room, but it was not ready after a 40-minute wait.

Despite these setbacks, we would like to commend the chef for their excellent food...

Beautiful ambience - stones or rocks taken from caves adds to the cosiness and acoustics. Top class service and food is quite exceptional, at least what I ordered (mushroom risotto, mixed grill). Starwood members are entitled for food discount only. Price is reasonable. You can make request(s) from the restaurant staff for a song dedication and the band will play it in the restaurant.
