KK Waterfront Hotel — Hotel in Borneo

Quite disappointing. It is not as what you see on booking online. Booking for family. All details complete. We thought that's the reasonable price, end up it is a trap to pay more. We have to request 1 extra bed but they give excuse room too small. To confirm it I personally gone up and check. I find out it can fit if move the queen bed to the side a bit. But the maintenance said the bed cannot move. I thought it is fix to the floor and cannot move. So, they said need to move to a bigger room. End up we have to top up another RM160. I'm surprise when the maintenance guy can move the bed and place the extra bed. I ask him this bed can move why the bed at the original room we book cannot move? He said the bed can move but the supervisor didn't allowed. I am so disappointed and really not happy about it. Very obvious they trap us to pay more. On top of that the room next to another room which they convert it into the laundry room. O ya, when he move the bed, the floor so dirty, dusty and got cigarettes buds. Garbage trolley every time on corridor. Blocking the way and unpleasant smell. The laundry trolley as well. Aircond not really working and leaking. Can see it is not been service for long time. Tv very hard to on. Wi-Fi signal not really strong. Lobby nice smell the moment you enter the lift... stuffy and awful smell because they use cheap type of carpet on the floor. It look wet. The lift's wall colour is dark and dim light... very depressing. The breakfast... hmmm... not recommended. For the price we are paying actually almost the same with Klagan and more worth. We will never check-in KK Waterfront Hotel anymore and it is not advisable to go there. Better go to Klagan. With the same amount of money, we advise you to go to Klagan. Big difference! Because the staff talk nicely we give 1 star. If not we don't think this hotel deserves any star. We don't mind paying more but at least it is worth. We thought this hotel as nice like Klagan. Cockroach infestation - sizes of the cockroaches varied from tiny baby cockroaches to baby cockroaches to small cockroaches to medium sized cockroaches to full size cockroaches. It is clear that eggs have been being laid in the hotel for a while.

In less than 24 hours we killed over 15 cockroaches in our room/bathroom and there were still a lot more.

When we complained 3 members of staff including a manager giggled and moved us to a new room. While moving our belongings to another room, before we had even sat down, we saw a full size cockroach run from the bedroom into the bathroom. After putting our bags down, we saw another medium sized cockroach run across the top of the shower. Immediately, we booked into a different hotel and went to reception to ask for a refund, where we were told the manager who had assisted us less than 10 minutes earlier was now on holiday. We were refused a refund and lost the price of 2 nights stay.

Me and my partner have been travelling in low budget hotels and hostels for 4 months across South East Asia and have happily stayed in rooms where there have been a few cockroaches and we have been able to remove them. It is not possible to remove them all here, there is simply too many.

Please save yourself the trouble and...

It's just my own experience. Not reflective of experiences of others.

Checked in in the evening. Was put up in the only room left in the hotel which was windowless. Felt nauseated just being in there. Also toilet bowl seemed to be used before, not cleaned and its stuck! Felt more nauseated. Asked 2 times if there was another room and I don't mind paying for an upgrade if there is such in the hotel. None as it was fully occupied.

Then it rained. The aircon kept tripping the main switch in the room. No solution. Just so happen there was a room (with window) available to me where there was none earlier.

Changed room not too great either. Loose main door lock. Loose water tap. Leaky wash basin. Powerful toilet bowl flush which flush out of the toilet bowl.

Thank God I'm just staying for a night before my early morning flight out

Think I won't stay here again. Although it's close to most touristy things around.

Then again it's my experience here. Might be just lucky to have an unlucky streak...
