Donkey and I had a delightful lunch at Souper Tang in KSL City Mall on a rainy afternoon. I'd been meaning to bring Donkey here for ages, as I remember the restaurant fondly from my younger years. Their soups are truly something special. This time, we ordered the Sesame Oil Ginger Wine & Herbs Chicken Mee Suah (RM 29.90) for myself and the Herbal Paper Wrapped Spring Chicken with Rice (RM 29.90) for Donkey. The total came to RM 69.35, which felt like excellent value for the quality we received.
My Mee Suah, the broth was incredibly flavorful, with a perfect balance of ginger and sesame oil that warmed me from the inside out. While I noted it was a little oily, it didn't detract from the overall deliciousness. Donkey enjoyed his Herbal Paper Wrapped Spring Chicken. The chicken was cooked to perfection, incredibly tender and juicy, and the subtle herbal flavors were divine. It was a truly comforting and satisfying dish.
The service was impeccable. Our server was attentive, friendly, and made us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere was relaxing and inviting, a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle of the mall. It was clean, cozy, and well-maintained.
Souper Tang has always been a reliable favorite, and this visit only solidified that. The consistently high quality of their food, coupled with the outstanding service, makes it a standout dining experience. It's more than just a meal; it's a little bit of comfort and well-being in a bowl (or a paper wrapping!). I would highly recommend Souper Tang to anyone looking for a delicious and healthy Chinese meal in...
Read moreDuring my recent visit to KSL in Johor Bahru, I had the pleasure of dining at Super Tang Soup a restaurant renowned for its hearty and flavorful dishes. Here’s my take on two of their standout offerings: the Super Tang Signature Soup and the Salted Egg Yolk Bean Curd with Crab Meat.
Super Tang Signature Soup The Super Tang Signature Soup is an absolute must-try for any visitor. The broth is rich and aromatic, simmered to perfection with a variety of herbs and spices. It has a depth of flavor that speaks to the hours of careful preparation. The soup is packed with tender chunks of meat and a mix of fresh vegetables making it both satisfying and nutritious. Each spoonful delivers a comforting warmth, ideal for any time of the year. The balance of seasoning is impeccable, creating a harmonious blend that is both savory and slightly sweet.
Salted Egg Yolk Bean Curd with Crab Meat This dish is a delightful combination of textures and flavors. The bean curd is silky smooth on the inside with a slight crispiness on the outside, thanks to the light frying. The salted egg yolk sauce is creamy and indulgent adding a rich, umami flavor that pairs perfectly with the delicate taste of the bean curd. The addition of crab meat elevates the dish, providing a sweet and briny contrast that complements the salted egg yolk beautifully. Each bite is a luxurious experience, making it a standout dish on the menu.
Overall Experience Super Tang Soup at KSL is a gem for anyone looking to indulge in comforting, high-quality Chinese cuisine. The ambiance is cozy and inviting making it a great spot for both casual meals and special occasions. The staff are attentive and friendly, enhancing the overall dining experience. I highly recommend giving these dishes a try, especially if you’re a fan of rich, flavorful soups and innovative takes on...
