For some reason, we enjoy going there, be it BV 1 or BV II. Perhaps it's the vibes, perhaps I had a connection back on the good ole days when I was working with an Ad Agency in Bangsar. Before I speak of Bangsar Village, I just want to share, we love going to Yeast along on Jalan Telawi 2 on occasions. Village Grocer, Plan B, Village Roast Ducks, Massimo Dutti, SilverFish bookstore, Tribecca, are among our fave. It has a lot going on just being in and around the neighborhood. Whichever the reason maybe, it just feels comfy despite the busyness. Bangsar Village offering over 110,000sqft of retail space, Bangsar Village I & II is a boutique shopping centre catering to high-income residents in the Telawi area. Opened in 2004, the complex houses over 70 specialty stores mainly made up out of international fashion labels and quirky cafés.
The twin buildings are connected via a sheltered pedestrian sky-bridge – accessible via the first floor. A family-friendly venture, this complex is a favourite haunt of the city’s young urbanites and expatriate community. Weekdays see a thin crowd, with a few mother-and-kid teams. At lunchtime, restaurants are popular but it’s the retail complex’s anchor tenant – in-house grocery store, Village Grocer – that is...
Read moreParking was a mess in Bangsar Village. Went there on Friday night and the parking area was quite full. Have to go in rounds and up and down ground floor and underground floor to look for parking. Navigation sign boards were lacking, luckily there were staff stationed around to point the direction to the drivers. The most frustrating part was the auto pay machine. I inserted my ticket for the first time, and the parking fee was RM 5.50. I realized I didn't have small change, so I cancelled the payment and went around to look for a shop to get some small change. It was late and most shops have closed. Fortunately, I managed to get small change from a kind hearted guard. The gap between the first and second time I inserted the card was around 5 to 6 minutes, and the parking fee increased to RM 7. My entry time was around 8.17pm, and the time when I first made payment was 10.35pm. With this unpleasant experience of parking, I doubt I would visit Bangsar Village in the...
Read moreThe biggest draw for me to this mall is its anchor tenant, Village Grocer where I can get a good variety of fresh produce and other well stocked quality goods.
Second, and often overlooked great feature of a mall is that it has 3 entry/exit points which also give its patrons several options to pay for parking and to me, it's always handy to pay with TouchnGo card. Bangsar Village is not a big mall but for its size in comparison to say Mid Valley Megamall, the number of entry/exit points it has is impressive!
Its foreign security personnel are very courteous and helpful. When it rains, umbrellas are provided for temporary use to the mall patrons to walk to their cars in the uncovered section of the parking lots. How thoughtful!
This mall has a reasonably good mix of tenants and I'm pretty glad no fast food chain is part of the mix unless you consider Nando's a...
