The professionalism and attitude of the security guards here were very disappointing and made us unwilling to consider coming back again. When we checked in at an Airbnb and followed the owner’s instructions to collect the access card, we faced a language barrier with the security guards. It felt like we, as locals, were in a foreign country. Fortunately, we eventually managed to get the access card.
Later, when registering as visitors, we asked where to park, but the guards gave no clear directions. They simply handed us a visitor pass and told us to “park jer.” The entire process was impatient and unclear. In such a large parking area with no proper signage, we relied on the visitor pass to find the designated tower area. However, the next day, our car was clamped.
A higher-ranking security guard came to resolve the issue. We explained that it was the entrance security guard’s responsibility to provide clear parking instructions, and it shouldn’t be our burden to pay the car clamping fee. However, the security guard arrogantly pointed in a direction, saying that’s where we should’ve parked. Looking over, we saw no signboards indicating “visitor parking.”
Given the size of the parking area, it was reasonable to ask for guidance during registration, but instead, the entrance security guard had simply said, “park jer.” Afterward, the security guard handed us his phone to talk to a higher-up, but the response remained the same — we had to pay the fine ourselves. He even told us to lodge a complaint if we wanted but insisted we pay first, stating we could complain to management the next day. He and another security guard then attempted to walk away.
We immediately contacted the Airbnb owner, who came to the scene. At this point, the arrogant security guard immediately changed his attitude. Before checking in, we had asked the owner about visitor parking, and he simply said to register at the entrance. Ultimately, the owner paid the car clamping fee out of his own pocket, for which we are grateful, as it allowed us to leave quickly and not miss our flight.
However, the root of the problem lies in the failure of the security guard to fulfill their responsibility, the arrogant attitude of the subsequent guard, and the confusing layout of the parking area. When we tried asking for help from the security guards, they didn’t provide clear answers or guidance. Instead, they gave off a dismissive attitude, as if they completely ignored the root cause of the issue and instead made us bear the responsibility and...
Read moreBEWARE WHILE PARKING AT EKO CHERAS MALL!!! A pipe burst at Eko Cheras Mall. My vehicle was directly affected by this incident - substances from kitchen waste poured on my new car. It was greasy, smelly and disgusting!!
I sent an email detailing the incident and damage to my vehicle to Mall Management's Email Address. No response was received. I visited Eko Cheras Mall and met with 2 members of management. They expressed a lack of prior knowledge regarding the incident and took a statement from me. I was informed that their supervisor would be unavailable that week and a follow-up would occur the following week. No follow-up contact was received during the following week (by email, phone call, or WhatsApp).
A different staff member - KHAIRUL called me and requested receipts for the car washes I mentioned in my report. However, I explained that the car washes were basic roadside washes, and I did not retain receipts for these minimal expenses. My claim is not for the car washes themselves, but for the damage caused by the pipe burst incident.
He still insisted on the receipts in order to even process my report. He then proceeded to warned me to speak to him "elok-elok" and to contact him back when i was calmer. He then abruptly ended the call. Ten minutes later, he called me again and requested I bring my car for inspection at the mall the following week.
I brought my car to the Mall for inspection. The offered solution was a one-time complimentary car wash and polish service, claiming this would be sufficient enough to remove the grease. During the meeting, the supervisor (presumed) compared my incident to a separate incident at a different mall (TRX). They claimed the TRX incident was worse because it involved sewage water.
There was no mention of the fact that my car was forcefully moved via jacking without my prior consent. Furthermore, no apology was issued by any staff members or supervisor involved, either formally or informally. There was no expression of remorse for the inconvenience or damage caused.
Higher management should really train their staff firstly with mannerism and respect to customers. Up till today no solution or compensation was offered. KHAIRUL GHOSTED ME. Really disappointed with such a big corporation and cool mall like Eko Cheras having...
Read moreOne of the new shopping mall in Cheras which are public transport accessible (via Taman Mutiara MRT station), however don't expect that the mall is very complete yet as many stores are still yet to be opened even after a year ago when the mall was first opened, with many stores still board up saying "coming soon". Sports and outdoor lovers will be very disappointed as there aren't any stores dedicated to sports and outdoors inside the mall, with the exception of the gym. The majority of the stores that makes up the mall includes an anchor that is a supermarket Village Grocer which is an upscale gourmet grocery store, fashion stores, restaurants, cafes, arcade, dollar shop, beauty center and a cinema. This place is more good for hangouts and food delicacy as there are plenty of restaurants and cafes of different kind of cuisine types, although majority of the food pricing are between mid to expensive. No KFC nor McDonald's are available, but A&W instead which it's best being Root Beer and Curly Fries. The cheapest place to eat inside EkoCheras being 7-Eleven where you can eat Nasi Lemak, Fried Rice, Mi Goreng or Chee Cheong Fun for under RM 4, just don't expect the fancy nor tasty type. Aside hangouts at restaurants and cafes, there are plenty of fashion stores inside the mall with the notable being VOIR and H&M. No anchor department store available inside the mall. No sports stores either. Their Mr DIY branch do sell foods and drinks too, something that you haven't been seen before in other Mr DIY branches. Parking were plenty too and will never full, even on weekends and...
