I have to agree with some of the comments here—haha, it's definitely a bit overrated and too touristy for my taste. Somehow, this spot doesn't live up to my expectations. Despite being the most famous street in Ipoh, it's hard to say that it truly represents the entire city.
Ipoh has a unique colonial charm, shaped by its significance during the "Silver Mining Era of Malaya" under British rule. The city's rich history and heritage can be felt throughout, but this particular street doesn’t quite capture the essence of what makes Ipoh special. Not that it's a bad thing—this could be one of those places you have to visit at least once in your lifetime. It's a spot where you can pick up souvenirs and other touristy items.

Tried the 'Wawasan chendol' kiosk aka 'chendol abang kacak'and it was superbly good..as in the chendol. The dude was okay looking.
Had lunch at 'Pekan lama' restaurant. Good food and reasonably priced as well. The Sunquick Blackcurrant drink brought back memories of the past. Though, readily available in shops, never had it for years.
Stumbled upon a book shop called X-Cess. Stumped that there was a Yasmin Ahmad tribute section downstairs. A good job done by the book owner. Lots of photos and poster of Yasmin Ahmad.
