Please find a TL;DR below if you do not want to read the entire review! My wife and I just returned from an incredible 13-night stay at the Iberostar Selection Cancun, where we celebrated our wedding with 70 of our closest friends and family. This resort truly made our special occasion unforgettable, and we are grateful for the wonderful experiences we had. Overall, we give the Iberostar Selection Cancun a solid 5 stars! The highlight of our trip was definitely the kind and wonderful staff we encountered throughout our stay. Their warmth and attentiveness made a significant difference in our experience. Hospitality Services – 5/5 Stars • Every staff member, from check-in to housekeeping, was incredibly friendly and helpful. • When we accidentally broke a glass in our room, staff arrived to clean it up within 20 minutes. • Our room was serviced twice daily, always ensuring we had fresh towels and a made bed. • We also enjoyed a wonderful couples massage, adding to our relaxation. Entertainment Team – 5/5 Stars • The entertainment staff, including Adrien, Edgar, Angel, Ruben, Alejandro, and Vanessa, made our trip so much fun! • We participated in numerous activities, such as water polo, beach volleyball, and various competitions, and had a blast. • The golf course Sunset cocktail hour was a relaxing way to start our evening when they had it. • Evening performances in the theater were enjoyable, with the magic show and circus-themed song and dance show being the two we went to. While good, they weren’t Broadway quality. • Karaoke and DJ nights at the sports bar kept us entertained without feeling the need to seek nightlife off-resort. Wedding – 5/5 Stars • Our wedding was a wonderful success. Everything, from the DJ to the food and photographer, was just perfect. • The booking and planning process, especially with our coordinator Janet, was seamless and stress-free. • Janet was responsive and directed us to great vendors, including Encore Entertainment for our DJ and Novia Mia for our photographer. • The wedding cake was a highlight; it was delicious! Additional Remarks • The weather in Cancun during November is typically gorgeous; we only experienced two days of rain during our stay. • Access to off-island trips was easy, with a large turnaround area for excursion buses, such as our trip to Chichen Itza. Recommendations • Breakfast Tip: Stick to the made-to-order section for eggs at the buffet; it made a big difference! • Tipping: Bring extra tipping money for the amazing staff; a few US dollars go a long way in showing appreciation. • Participation: Be open to having fun and joining activities, even if you’re unsure about your skills. You’ll have a great time! In conclusion, we hope to visit the Iberostar Selection Cancun again soon and create even more wonderful memories! TL;DR My wife and I just returned from a fantastic 13-night stay at the Iberostar Selection Cancun, where we celebrated our wedding with 70 friends and family. Overall, we rate the resort 5 stars, with the highlight being the incredible staff who made our experience truly special. Our oceanfront master villa had a beautiful view but felt a bit dated, earning it a 4/5 stars. The location was excellent, providing safety and ease of access to excursions, which we appreciated. We enjoyed the entertainment team, who kept us engaged with various activities, and the food was generally good, particularly at the Italian restaurant. Our wedding went smoothly thanks to a wonderful planning process, and we hope to return to this amazing resort in the future!

I stayed at Coral Lever side ;after a famous breakfast to sign for a membership ,sales team (Iberostar selection) went nasty and rude because I didn’t want to be part of their membership group . Star friends workers (selection side) going around ‘selecting people to talk to’ , Theater ‘El telón’ is so boring and no drinks are available .gabriel is in charge of NO giving you drinks. Guys ; do something with the shows, they’re boring as hell . The rocktail show , was ‘okay’ just because professional dancers and a rock band who was hired to perform , saved the night. Otherwise, I don’t know who will do something similar there. Alex ;the supervisor of the star friends (side selection) went rude to my wife ,but he only had a slap in his wrist from his boss ,so ,he will continue with that attitude . If the app is working ,it will be ‘some’ activities around the pool ,if not ,people will be around walking doing nothing. My intention is not damage the reputation of this resort (side selection) ,but with so many bad ‘highlights’ people that used to have fun there ,is not coming back anymore . At the buffet Coral ,people don’t know what is ‘scramble eggs ‘ by the selection at the star coffee they don’t know what is iced coffee with expresso , but the Online Reputation Manager department claimed about recruiting the best candidates around . The bracelet on the Coral never works , so luxury resort but the primary accessory to get into your room , never works . *let’s read that twice* The best experience was the bar ‘Carey’ meeting Salvador ,the bartender who is so professional, nice, hard worker, polite and gave me the best service you can have there . Almeyda, the waitress was nice and very helpful, just shy sometimes. Thanks Salvador ,it was a great time talking to you. Carlos , at Coral went like ‘flash’ every-time he was helping me, he has a great attitude , great smile and always POSITIVE. Some people at Selection need to learn something . Rafael; the concierge worker is so professional ,show empathy on what I have to say and he offered me help all the time I needed. Thanks Rafael !!! So ;I paid 3,300 usd dollars to had my week vacation ruined because I didn’t want to sign an STUPID membership with Iberostar Selection . Imagine ; my ‘breakfast’ was Sunday morning , hold on! You have take money , because Sebastian (sales rep) asking me to tip the waiter, interesting right ? Or even his boss ; coming to the table to do business with a shirt open down the belly button and showing his nasty hair around and somebody was asking why it was some bad smell around, well guess why buddy? Even when I left 350 around on tips . From that Sunday afternoon my vacation went bad and ruined , but 5 more days to go . It was so interesting to know why every employee have his phone out and visible . Is like you talking with somebody and they don’t paid attention .I guess that’s why I got spotted, because somebody took a photo of me to be share on their ‘chat group’ . I’m not sure if the future guest will be ‘okay’ knowing that their families can be targeted by somebody taking photos with no previous consent. Very interesting, right? .

A great place to have a vacation from the snow and cold of Canada . All in all pretty decent for what it is. The property shows some signs of wear and tear although the staff do try to keep it up , the food at the Buffett changes daily but there are some staples that are available every day . The fruit is fresh and there are lots of choices for everyone’s taste. A couple of items that could improve are things like better cleaning of the pool side chairs. Obviously through the years people have worn their sunscreen and gotten them pretty dirty. I would expected some degreaser and a good scrubbing would sweeten them up pretty nicely. One major concern was broken glass on floor seven. I reported at 24 hours ago and it’s still there so I’ve made a video as I feel that it’s very important for guest safety. All in all the pretty decent stay-well organized, and lots of activities and dancing. If you like a little bit of quiet, you can move away from the music in the pool area and just relax. it would also be nice if they didn’t do weed, whacking, and lawn mowing near the outside bar while people are trying to eat their lunch. The smell from the two-stroke exhaust and noise was a little unreasonable. for the pros I would say the view and the location or ideal. If you wanna take a quick bus ride down to the shopping centre it’s one dollar US per person per way. It’s quite the experience as the buses are a little bit old, but it’s completely safe. all the team members and staff greet you with a smile and try to help in any situation they can. Didn’t encounter even one person who didn’t smile or greet us in the morning. There are some sit down restaurants on site as well. I would recommend the Japanese restaurant, but you need to book that in advance usually one day. that’s off the team members Edgar the bartender, Lillie the poolside ambassador and Piter, who was always full of energy and organizing events! We recommend this location and will consider it and our next trip to Cancun. Hola.

Iberostar is a great resort to stay at in Cancun, Mexico. It’s a short ride from the airport, was all inclusive, and has options for different room styles to choose from (poolside villas, beachside villas, hotel w/great views). The Good: - The views and water clarity are amazing. Yes, you can get this at other resorts, but the position of the hotel and restaurants allows you to take advantage of the beautiful sunrises over the water and gentle sunset transitioning into the night. - Cleanliness. It seems like one of their main focuses is on keeping the resort clean, and they hit the mark every day. Although they have many workers around, it never seemed intrusive as a guest. - Service, I’ve been to different resorts, through different programs, in different countries, and this is one of the top 5 (at least). I don’t prefer all inclusive resorts usually because you can’t tip the workers and therefore the service tends to be lacking. That was not the case at Iberostar. It is an all inclusive resort, & they do allow tipping, but whether you tip, or not, the service was great. - Family Friendly! We didn’t go during a spring break season, so that could have played a part in the type of crowd that was at the resort, but it was nice to see that the “kid zone” is right in the middle of the resort to allow for quick access to the restaurants or rooms. The not-so-good - This is a little subjective… I did not enjoy the taste of the bottled water. There were times when it was better than others, which definitely affected what I chose for beverages. I opted for water purchased from their convenience store or something other than water. - Again, subjective, but we didn’t spend a lot of nights checking out the entertainment. We went once. The atmosphere was really nice, but it wasn’t our first choice. In summary, I would go back to Iberostar. For the overall value, I would say that you get more than what you pay for and have plenty of opportunities to make memories.

I recently stayed at the Iberostar Selection Cancun in Mexico, and it was hands down the worst hotel experience of my life. During my stay, housekeeping broke into my locked suitcase with a screwdriver and stole money from me. Yes, you read that correctly — someone in the hotel staff violated my privacy, invaded my personal belongings, and stole from me. This was not just an oversight or misunderstanding — it is outright theft. I reported the incident to hotel management, expecting at least a semblance of professionalism and concern. They assured me they would “investigate” the matter. Guess what? That was the last I heard from them. No updates, no follow-up, and certainly no resolution. It certainly feels like they’re sweeping this under the rug, hoping I’ll just forget about it. Spoiler alert: I won’t. It wasn't a little bit of money either, it was almost $2000 cash that was stolen, so I will not let that go. I will warn as many people as I can and I will consider taking legal action. The lack of action and accountability is truly appalling. Not only was my trust shattered, but I also felt completely unsafe for the remainder of my stay with my family. If hotel staff can just waltz into my room, what if my 10 year old daughter had been in there by herself? What if my wife was there by herself and was put in a vulnerable situation? If management can’t even handle a situation this serious, which is blatant theft, how can they be trusted with anything else? I would strongly caution anyone against staying at Iberostar Selection Cancun. No vacation is worth the stress, violation, and frustration of dealing with a hotel that has no regard for its guests' safety and security. Spend your money elsewhere — there's tons of options in the hotel zone. Preferably, find a hotel that values honesty, accountability, and basic human decency.
