Swinging Old Lady Brewery — Attraction in Curaçao

DO. NOT. GO. HERE. There are so many better places to go!

We originally checked this place out because it is walkable from where we stayed. The first time we attempted to go there we waited for 15 mins and ended up leaving because no one even acknowledged us. We should have took this as a sign to not come back but we decided to give it another try and really wish we wouldn’t have.

Absolutely HORRIBLE experience. We didn’t have a single beer that was good. We asked to switch out one of the beers that we got because quite frankly it wasn’t even good enough to chug and the waitstaff took it back behind the bar and proceeded to talk horribly about us (we know this because we could hear them and when they looked over at us and we were looking at them they said oh shit they are looking over here) then they came back and said that they couldn’t trade the beer out because we had drank out of it… how are we supposed to know if we like it if we don’t taste it? Very confusing. The server we had was from Jamaica was extremely rude and unprofessional. He just kept singing around our table and if we asked for a beer he acted very inconvenienced. They acted like children running this.

Full disclosure: This place is a work in progress, but even after only a month or so since their opening, the Swinging Old Lady Brewery is already a must-do for craft beer aficionados and/or brewery Bucket List seekers! This relatively new brewery, right downtown near the famous Swinging Old Lady Bridge (thus the name), serves food and brews (they have ~6 on tap as of this posting), has very cool indoor and outdoor seating (most with a view of the harbor and the Swinging Old Lady), and is staffed by awesome local people (Curaçaons?)! As an added bonus, it is walking distance to the cruise terminal and makes a great spot for a beer or 2 before heading back to the boat!

Our visit to The Swinging Old Lady Brewery in Curacao was nothing short of fantastic! The staff were absolutely fabulous, providing top-notch service and making us feel right at home. The building itself was pristine, with a lovely patio offering a gorgeous view of the canal, creating a perfect atmosphere for enjoying their craft beers.

Having worked in craft breweries for over 5 years, I was incredibly impressed with the variety and quality of the beers on offer. Each brew was well-crafted and unique, reflecting a true passion for the craft. It was clear that a lot of thought and expertise went into their beer selection and production.
