We stayed for 2 nights B&B at the start of our New Zealand trip, couldn’t ask for better. Tim and Jacqui looked after us excellently. From the moment you arrived they made you feel special, helping with bags, first drink on the house, suggesting excellent restaurant, arranging boat trip. |Okay, this is not one of your worldwide hotel chains, it is a one off run by lovely people. Room was clean and comfortable, breakfast was made on the spot and you got what was given. This was tasty and included eggs from their hens and tomatoes from their garden. |When you arrive you phone, rather than a reception area, however they are there in a jiffy. We were greeted by Ronda and immediately felt at home ,we stayed in the Raupo Room which was great . Later we met Tom her son who was so nice .|The bed and everything was just perfect for pur 2 night stay .we had a lovely breakfast then went on our boat trip ..the weather closed in after so we had lunch locally and went back to the house .a couple more guests arrived and we sat talking in the lovely sitting room ..the weather got worse , and Ronda offered to ho get some food if they would like ..all in all we had.a great evening , and perfect stay with Ronda ,Walt and Tom .|Perfect hosts ! Read moreAn absolutely charming and cosy little B&B situated right at the heart of Akaroa. The place is decorated with a lovely touch, which makes you feel right at home. You can feel the character of this beautiful old home (yet still functional and with all the modern appliances you'd want) around every corner. Although the weather wasn't great for our stay, we took comfort in staying longer in the house and playing some card games by the fire in the living room. The breakfast is also delicious and the owners are absolutely lovely. The two only remarks we might have are that we could smell the cooking in the morning quite a bit from our room upstairs and that you can hear a bit what others are doing around the house, but those are the hallmarks of XIXth...
