We stayed at the apartments in the 3 storied town houses with parking outside the underneath garage. It has dated, cheaper fittings and repairs and all furniture showing definite signs of wear and tear - items like rattley fan heaters, old CRT TV sets, old Venetian blinds that don't cover the upper part of windows so it gets light inside very early, and shower heads that dribble water with old creaky shower and shower curtains.||||WIFI was almost non-existent and frustrating!!!||||Fridge was not cold enough and on the coldest setting froze ice cream so hard could not be used for 20 mins after removing from freezer - milk and items being placed into freezer to keep fresh etc......old element oven which was extremely clean, yay!! Good quality towels, old creaky beds and furniture and bed covers :(||||These could be lovely as have everything to be self-contained, just needs some $$ spent to bring into the millennium.||||It also wasn't especially clean, particularly the oily surfaces in the kitchen - no cleaning products to spray down - has washing machine, great tho no dishwasher. ||||It was ok, with a good quiet location, but I wouldn't stay there again and much nicer accommodation to be found in Akaroa for a similar price. Has 2 steep flights of stairs so elderly or...
Read moreNice apartments in a great location to shops and the waterfront. Bathroom and bedrooms are on ground floor with steep staircase to main living area. Our family of 5 were disappointed to find that on arrival Management had given our 3 bedroom apartment to 2 people. ||We spent most of our evening rearranging bedding in the smaller apartment that was given to us and requesting essential items that hadn't been replaced. Management were dismissive and had told us we should have checked in earlier. If staying here would advise checking in advance that you have the accommodation you have booked and paid for, especially as they charge your credit card before arrival.||There are many other great places to stay in Akaroa which we would rather stay...
Read moreThe rental is effectively a terrace house with a garage underneath. It was built some time in the 1990's (I think) and the cheap fittings used at the time are beginning to show wear and tear - stuff like rattly fan heaters, old CRT TV sets, skew-whiff Venetian blinds that don't cover the upper part of windows so it gets light inside very early, and shower heads that throw a third of their water away from you as they are part blocked and can't be cleaned out.||||It also wasn't especially clean, with strong cooking smells when we arrived and a film of oil over a number of surfaces in the kitchen. ||||All in all it's ok, with a good location, but I wouldn't want to pay much more than they are charging...
