Fishy Friends Seafoods — Local services in Christchurch

We ordered two spring rolls, one butter chicken, and one steak and onion item. Shortly after placing our order, we heard the sound of a microwave in use, and the staff member on duty appeared to be watching a video. It took approximately ten minutes for our food to arrive; however, the steak and onion item was still frozen in the center.

The whole time whilst we were eating we could Hear the video in the background, even while we said thank you for the food it took him a couple seconds to process that we even said anything for him to respond.

This was disappointing, as we had expected freshly prepared food and higher attention to quality.

Looking for fresh seafood in the heart of the city?!

I tried the “Fishy Finder Combo” and was impressed with the quality of the fish and crab stick, both were fresh and cooked just right. The seafood was definitely the highlight of the meal.

The salad, however, was quite small, and I would’ve preferred more of it instead of the large portion of chips. By the end, the chips had gone cold and weren’t as enjoyable.

Service was friendly and fast, though I was the only customer at the time. Overall, a good experience and I’d come back, especially for the seafood. I would like to see more...

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ A humble, newly opened fish and chips shop in the city centre of Christchurch — and it’s soooo good! The fish used in their regular menu is Southern Blue Whiting — very fresh, with a light and crispy batter. If you don’t mind paying a little more, definitely go for the Blue Cod ($17 per piece) — it’s succulent, fresh, and full of flavour. Honestly, one of the best fried fish I’ve ever tasted!

Oh, and I forgot to mention — the thick fries are fresh and tasty too!
