One Tree Hill is a favourite place to go to enjoy the peacefulness within central Auckland amongst grassland, trees and sheep. This old volcanic crater was once an ancient Maori Pā (village) site. The outlines of terraces and kumara storage pits are still visible. At the top where the One Tree Hill monument is, you get a 360 degree view of all the Auckland region and both sides of the North Island- on the west side is the Manukau Harbour, and on the eastern side is the Waitemata Harbour. It is a good place to walk or jog, or, take your time and relax have a picnic or go to the cafes restaurants that are nearby. You could once drive to the top but in 2018 vehicle access has been restricted.

Magnificent view at the summit of One Tree Hill On New Year Day 2024 and 5/1/2024, my husband and I went to the summit of One Tree Hill. We enjoyed the stunning views there and took many photos. Apparently, there’s no more tree on top of the hill but two short trees are locked with the steel cage. We highly recommend you to walk up to the summit of One Tree Hill to enjoy the breathtaking taking view.

One of the beautiful places to relax in Auckland. Being close to nature has been the motto, in maintaining a place like that in a central city.

Play ground area for kids is huge. Easy to spend a whole day here for a picnic or a party.

You can see lot of sheep, cattle and feel like the real rural NZ.

The walk way or the drive are so beautiful covered in lush green trees. I would definitely recommended this to any nature lover.

Hats off to the maintenance team for all...
