Little Jimmy — Restaurant in Albert-Eden

Got a couple of pizzas and some greens. The latter being a choice that one of the waitresses suggested. It was kale, something I'm not into usually but this was good.

The waitresses attended to our every need and were very sweet and helpful. Very attractive girls too. All the staff we dealt with that night (Sunday) were kind and courteous. Going as far as they could to be accommodating. I was served an excellent mixed drink which is the one of best of this particular drink I've had. I buy them everywhere I go and this was top tier.

We had our food and then stayed and sat a while as chatted and caught up; not ordering dessert or coffee during this period of maybe an hour. Which was a tad cheeky of us; takIng up the space for so long. Though the excellent service was maintained solidly throughout. The kind and personable waitresses filled our water and saw that we were comfortable well past what would have been reasonable to expect. Don't know if I'd of been so patient when I worked hospitality! They were also knowledgeable, with information on New Zealand made whiskey and beer.

We have enjoyed going to LJ in the past for breakfast and dinner with family and friends. On 30th Dec our group of 8 decided to go there for a quick lunch. The inside was busy so we asked if we could sit outside where all tables were free. The lady behind the bar looked at us uncomfortably and responded rudely that we couldn’t, because apparently they didn’t want all their tables occupied! That was a bizarre thing to say and no reason was given when we asked why. She repeatedly said our only option was to wait till the tables freed up inside! An elderly lady was with us so the high table she offered inside was not suitable, also it could not accommodate all of us. We were made to feel like we weren’t cool enough to be seen outside at their restaurant! We walked out and went next door to Raven & Cook where we were welcomed by friendly staff and treated with respect. Your website claims “...there’s nothing pretentious or flashy about what we do, just some great tasting food and drinks on offer”. Everything about you that day was pretentious. It’s your loss, we will not be setting foot...

Popped in here Saturday avo for something to eat. We ordered pasture raise ribeye and pan fried chicken schnitzel with curly fries and broccoli sides. Both plates professionally presented looked great and tasted fabulous. Ribeye was cooked as per order mushrooms and onion very tasty and as a meal we'd go back here for and order again no problem. Schnitzel had a nice crunchy crumb cauliflower pure and mayo dressing complement each other. Again wud have no problem reordering this meal. If you love crunchy chips then get the Curly fries and broccoli with chick peas was also very tasty. We didn't really need it but went there anyway with the sticky date pudding for desert. Sooo so good but be warned it's probably heart attack food. Had great service from the 2 men running the place. Very pleasent Interior and the place has. A nice feel to it. Feels like it has lots of repeat Customer from the locals who must know great food, great service great atmosphere... Great experience. If you haven't been then it's a must try.
