LAN Hair Design — Attraction in Waitematā

I spent $400 on a cut, color, and bleach, but when I asked for a breakdown of the charges, they explained what they have done and how long they took but that’s not a proper breakdown, and I found the lack of transparency disappointing. At least their explanation was not enough for my expectations. I expected more professionalism for the price, and unfortunately, I won’t be returning. I did exactly same hair style last time at Japanese hair salon in North shore and it cost $286 with clear price breakdown, of course.

Even though I specifically asked for a breakdown of the charges by email, I received no clear answer. (Same explanation as their reply for this post, they only say how they serviced, but not the price breakdown) It was only after I posted a review that I received a email saying the pricing was actually $100 per hour - something that had never been mentioned before. I went to LAN for hair straightening about two months ago. I have previously done rebounding and keratin straightening both in Asia and NewZealand. When I went for my consultation session to LAN about a year ago they have asked me not to do straightening as I had keratin on and they did not want to damage my hair. I really appreciate their professionalism and honesty . I waited a year and went to consultation again. They have spend so much time informing me about my hair condition and how straightening on top of keratin might damage my hair for the second time. After so much consultation, we have decided to proceed with straightening. They have done such a wonderful job on making sure my hair would not damage and I love the result. Now after about two months I am still happy with the result and definitely will be back to LAN for retouching my roots....

Literally worse hair cut ever got in my life! Decide to try here as my usual hair dresser has gone back to Japan, and always seems busy when going pass. I asked for a trim and a bit of layer, but after she cut it, it was still thick, hardly trim at all, and the way she cut was short on the top layer and noticeably longer inside, like somewhere just came and just did a straight cut of my top layer hair at the end as part of a prank! Really not worth the $63 I paid as I went back to my usual hair saloon with another hair dresser to recut my hair, who also agreed it was a horrible hair cut! Should've have stick to my usual hair saloon from the first place.

On a positive note, the manager contacted me directly offering a refund for the service as I have gone for another hair cut else where, so was a good follow...
