Regrettably, my stay at this Hilton property fell short of expectations. The water temperature in the shower was lukewarm and the pressure was lacking. Additionally, the WiFi coverage, especially in rooms, was notably poor, requiring a visit to the lobby for connectivity. The connection is often lacklustre with random disconnects being normal in the rooms. The internet is around 1mbs for download according to Ookla when I'm in the lobby, only good for basic web browsing and the occasional YouTube video, for calls it's best to be in the lobby as it seems the signal drops randomly when you're in the rooms. The rooms are clean, though the views aren't that great. It is pretty loud during the night as many people around here host parties. The staff was attentive and the rooms were what you'd expect from a three or four star hotel in the states. Although this is one of the better hotels in the area, the management seemed uninformed, they lacked awareness of basic policies for Diamond members. We experienced a prolonged wait for a room upgrade, as the manager incorrectly believed Diamond members were entitled to only one upgrade, whereas we should have had two.(the general manager sorted it out within 20 minutes) Furthermore, discrepancies between their booking system and the app almost resulted in a $40 extra charge(since the app has better deals especially for those with diamond membership). Despite the staff trying their best with the service, the overall experience was marred by management's lack of knowledge, the unsatisfactory wifi connection, and the presence of tiny mites in the room's carpet. The gym was small with only weights up to 25lbs, a cable machine, two treadmills, and a bike machine. The gym lacked any equipment for legs. For those seeking a nice workout, this is not the place, it's only good for cardio. This, unfortunately, stands as one of the most disappointing Hilton experience I've encountered in Latin America. It seems as if the management doesn't care for any of the complaints of guests. For the price, and considering the local hotels in the area, this place is like an oasis in a neglected part of Peru, but for those who expected more, especially for 110USD a night, there leaves a lot...
Read moreVery loud music until almost 1 am. My room was dirty. There were dried I don't know what on the bathroom counter and stains on the bedspread and towels. Couldn't get laundry done and still don't know why. I asked on Saturday when I checked in at two pm and they said it was too late to request the service even though it ran until 4 pm. They told me to request it at 8 am Sunday morning but when I did they said they wouldn't have time to finish it by checkout at noon. I had one load of laundry. I unfortunately got the impression they just didn't want to do my laundry. I said I would do it myself but they said that is not allowed. I had a very noisy set of neighbors as well as the loud music. When I called down to ask if they could have them be quiet (the noise went on until 2 am before I finally asked) they said they would but then they didn't. When I went down to the office after ten minutes of waiting for them to tell my neighbors to be quiet the gentleman I spoke with was chatting with 3 other employees. When he saw me he ran over and immediately apologized that he was just soooo busy he hadn't asked yet. It sure looked like he was busy there chatting with his fellow employees and that was about it. One thing I know for sure, if you want a quiet night's sleep don't go there on a Friday or Saturday. They treat the hotel as if it were a nightclub and blare the music SO LOUD even if there are only 10 people in the place. And they refuse to turn it down. I normally don't like to complain but I had just spent a grueling two weeks in the jungle with little sleep, needed clean clothes before I went home and had a 35 hour journey back home. The two things I was looking forward to the most at that hotel I did not reveive and no one seemed to care. I just needed a quiet place to sleep and some clean clothes. I will never come back here and I definitely won't recommend it to anyone I know. I can say that the cooking staff made a wonderful effort at making food. And overall all the employees were very young and seemed sweet, just not really super concerned about whether you got your needs met or not. I'm glad others who have stayed have had a better...
Read moreDO NOT STAY HERE IF YOU WANT TO SLEEP. I travel a lot and this is BY FAR the noisiest hotel I have ever stayed in. It’s the second time I’ve been here- there was a really loud party the first time, so I thought the noise was just a fluke - but I was so very wrong. This time, I came for work. They have very loud events by the pool and in the lobby. UNTIL MIDNIGHT pretty much ALL THE TIME. I was on the fifth floor this time and the music sounded like it was coming from inside the room. When you complain to the front desk, they pretend to be sorry - and they also pretend that you are the first person who ever complained about this problem before— I can see by all the reviews here that there are complaints on a regular basis. I also believe that the “good” reviews are fake — the noise is so loud and it goes until AT LEAST midnight — there is no way that someone would NOT mention that in their review. Also, it doesn’t matter where you are in the hotel — I had a room several floors above the pool the first time I stayed, then changed to the other side this time(thinking I could avoid the issue) noise still penetrates through the walls of the room. DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND READ ALL THE REVIEWS BEFORE BOOKING— you will see that this is a perineal problem and no matter how much you complain they are not going to fix it because they do NOT CARE. Don’t bother asking for a refund — once they have your cash they will do NOTHING to make up for you rotten stay. Save yourself some sleep and stay at the VICTORIA REGIS hotel just a few blocks away. Other issues with this hotel: overpriced, mediocre food. No AC in the upstairs hallways (making it feel like a sauna), internet is very, very weak. Rooms are also dated and not the cleanest I’ve been in. I know Hilton has gone downhill in recent years, but I’m still surprised that this hotel continues to be a part of their chain. Reflects poorly on the overall quality of...
