Gateway Mall — Attraction in Quezon City

Located in Cubao, Quezon City, Gateway Mall is a well-known shopping destination. However, my recent visit left much to be desired. Here are some of the issues I encountered:

While Gateway Mall is conveniently located near major transportation hubs like the MRT and LRT stations, the surrounding area is often congested and chaotic. Traffic jams are common, and finding a parking spot can be a frustrating experience.

The selection of stores in Gateway Mall feels outdated and limited compared to other malls in the area. Many shops appear neglected, with outdated merchandise and lackluster displays. The overall shopping environment lacks the vibrancy and variety that modern shoppers expect.

The dining options are another disappointment. While there are a few decent restaurants, the food court is crowded and often unclean. The variety of cuisines is limited, and finding a comfortable place to sit during peak hours is challenging. The quality of food in some establishments is mediocre at best.

The mall's ambiance is lackluster, with dim lighting and a dated interior design. Cleanliness is a significant issue, particularly in the restrooms, which are often poorly maintained. The overall atmosphere feels more like a crowded marketplace than a modern shopping mall.

One of the standout features of Gateway Mall is its unique architectural and design elements, such as The Oasis—an indoor, air-conditioned open-roof garden—and the Fabergé egg-inspired glass pavilion. These spaces provide a refreshing break from the usual mall environment and add a touch of nature and elegance to the shopping experience. The mall also boasts a 10-cinema cineplex with a variety of screening options, including a large 500-seater and a Platinum Cinema, catering well to moviegoers. However, there are areas where Gateway Mall could improve. Some visitors have noted that the staff can sometimes appear unfriendly or indifferent, which detracts from the overall customer service experience.
