This was a great guide and an excellent tour. I went with my school and our partner school on this boat sightseeing tour. We were lucky to be on two separate boats. After some time, the need to start a competition came up. We tried to convince our guide with some legendary movie music (Pirates of the Caribbean, Titanic, Fast and the Furious) to start a competition with the other three boats and our partner school. On the last 500 metres, the race reached its climax. We (the German school and second place) were right behind the other (the Polish school, first place). Unfortunately, the waves slowed us down, forcing us to completely change our strategy. Even when they picked up speed in the parking lot, we had the advantage. Our guide (a very strong young, handsome man) jumped off the boat onto the deck and pulled the boat like a bear, securing it with a tick row. I seized the opportunity when the Poles faltered and leapt onto the deck. The race was close, but our...
Read moreI was able to book tickets same day on Viators website for about $20 USD per person. It was an overcast day and early September so the boats were only about half full which was nice.
After booking, they send an email with a map for the meetup point. The map was not entirely accurate and you actually have to go to the back right behind the shipping container bar. There’s picnic tables there you can wait at until the crew calls for tickets.
The tour was really great! A good amount of history and cool architecture. The boats had blankets, umbrellas, and lanterns for use. Though we didn’t end up needing any as the weather was mild. I sometimes struggle with accents, but the guides were super easy to understand and easily answered any questions.
There’s an option on the way back to be let off closer to the...
Read moreVery enjoyable tour on the water! The tours can be booked in English or Polish and the guide and captain were friendly and had good tips. They also didn't shy away from recent city planning decisions and how those affect Gdansk residents. Price is quite fair for 70 minutes at just under 17€ via booking.com!
Two bridges are super-low: you not only need to stay seated, but duck to cross under. They are only for this kind of barge and for rowers.
People need to step in and from the boat, so I would say this cruise isn't wheel-chair-friendly.
Meeting point is through the docks, behind the small marina, at the Café right at waters edge. There are also single rooms unisex bathrooms available. And you have a sun roof as well as tables near waters edge and can eat pierogi,...
