Human creatures crave pleasure and avoid pain. From that perspective, this beach is a bit of a paradox, but I must admit, it rocks. Literally and metaphorically.
There’s something deeply serene about watching the sea stretch toward its zenith, listening to its whisper, and feeling its immense power as you swim. This place has it all. Also, It’s framed by two rocky outcrops that break the waves like sentinels.
But then there’s the pain. The walk into the water is a trial of balance and bravery, as you navigate rocks. Lying on them isn’t exactly a spa experience either—unless your idea of comfort includes acupuncture.
Yet, after a few days, the place grew on me. I began to forget the pain. More precisely, on those rocks, listening to the ocean’s song and contemplating existence and the water temperature, I forgot the various mundane aches of everyday life.
Conclusion: The beach is suitable for both swimming in the daylight and contemplating life at sunset. If you come, bring swimming shoes and something thicker to sit/lie down on. Also, sunscreen is essential as the sun sets behind you, and your neck might not appreciate the surprise. Drink is also useful, though restaurants are close enough to make hydration. Toilets are also said to be not far, but I'm not sure about their location.
Water can be... fresh innitially, but it also grows into you after few seconds. Also, intrance is continous, but later steep to some degree. When swimming, be prepared to be carried away and brought back by the waves. But then again, isn’t that just life?
Oh, and not to forget — if you're tired of all the existential and swimming-related stuff, or if you're more practically or hedonistically inclined, the location is very close to the city center.
If you prefer comfort or facilities, you can try other beaches, such as Praia da Barreirinha nearby or Praia Farmosa.
As Led Zeppelin once sang in their most famous song: “There's a lady who's sure all that glitters is gold... Dear lady, can you hear the wind blow? And did you know... And if you listen very hard, The tune will come to you at last. When all are one, and one is all— To be a rock and...

The only downside is that there's no restrooms or a place where you could change into your swimwear. There's no bar right on the beach, but you can find a lot of bars and restaurants nearby on...
