Academia de Magia by Experiencity Escape Room — Attraction in Madrid

We were there to play the “3 mages tourney” and it was a disaster.. This is not an escape room as we were told at the end (they call it a “gincana”, which is basically a bunch of challenges), although this information was no where to be found.. The guide speaks English, but barely.. it is sometimes very difficult to understand what it’s said. The riddles aren’t really connected in any way; most of the time there is a person in the room giving you hints, even though you don’t ask for them, and even if you tell them you don’t want the hints they will still give them to you.. seems like they are in a rush for you to finish the room.. as soon as you finish a riddle the person who is in the room insists in cleaning up and tidying up the place for the next appointment.. Supposedly you have 90m to clear the “escape room”, but with the amount of hints they insisted on giving we finished the escape room in less than 60 minutes..

I’ve participated in more than 30 escape rooms all over, and this was by far the worst one I’ve attended. Definitely...

Updated Review: We did our second game with Room Escape, The Wizards Tournament, just recently on the 14th of January. Pablo was our game master. We did the game in English. Pablo was fantastic! He was present but not intrusive to the game, and was helpful when he needed to be. The aesthetic of the set was absolutely incredible. The clues were well presented, and our group had a blast. We couldn't stop talking about how much fun we had. Room Escape is a great place to go. Thanks for a great game, Pablo. My group and I played Caza de Brujas. We were a group of five. Three had previously done an escape room and we had two first timers. All of us speak Spanish, but we chose to do it in English. Our game master Kyrah was incredible. She was very committed to her character and gave helpful clues without giving away the answer. The environment of the room was incredible and well designed. We had a fantastic time, and we would highly recommend them if you are looking to have fun with family...

Siempre sabe mal poner reseñas malas o críticas, pero después de pensarlo unos días creo que también son necesarias para la gente que irá a este ScapeRoom en el futuro, ya que a mí me hubiese gustado leer alguna parecida. Ya habíamos estado en The Room Escape y tuvimos una experiencia muy buena con el Torneo de los Tres Magos, y por ello decidimos volver. Hicimos el de la Caza de Brujas y fue una experiencia bastante mala para los 4 que fuimos. La verdad es que la primera parte fue muy bien, ya que estábamos los 4 solos y fuimos bastante rápido, sin embargo, cuando ya entramos en la sala grande fue una experiencia bastante frustrante. El GM estuvo prácticamente todo el tiempo metido con nosotros dentro haciendo "bromas", que consistían básicamente en insultarnos de manera "graciosa" durante todo el tiempo que estuvimos allí, ya que era la sala más difícil que habíamos hecho hasta el momento y nos quedábamos bastante atascados. Entendemos que es parte del juego y hay gente a la que le encantará este tipo de interacción, pero a nosotros nos pareció muy pesada y frustrante (sobre todo porque estos comentarios se solían dirigir a las 3 chicas que estábamos allí y no tanto al chico). También no nos pareció nada agradable que el GM te quitase cosas de las manos, se acercase a veces demasiado para mi gusto y te desmontase pruebas mientras las hacías. Repito, es una opinión personal, y creo que algunas personas, como yo misma, se pueden sentir incómodas con este tipo de interacciones. De nuevo, entiendo que la sala es así y tiene su objetivo, pero también creo que estaría bien saberlo de antemano para tener más información, y a lo mejor elegir otra donde te sientas más cómodo/a. O simplemente leer un poco las expresiones corporales de los jugadores para ver si están o no incómodos con el ambiente que se genera.

Nos supo a todos muy mal que fuese así, ya que salimos disgustados, agobiados y con una sensación de no haber disfrutado nada.
