Stumbled upon the Colombo Town Hall while exploring the city, and I'm really glad I did! The building is super impressive - looks a bit like a mini version of the White House with its grand white dome and colonial architecture.

You can't always go inside, but even from the outside, it's a great spot for some quick photos and a quiet moment. The grounds are well-kept, and there's a nice green space right across from it (Viharamahadevi Park), which makes it a peaceful area to relax for a bit.

This British colonial building I suppose must have been part of the royal resthouse or something. No matter which part of British India you go, you will find this structure. Starting from Victoria Memorial in Kolkata to Tajhat Jamindar House in Rangpur, to the Supreme Court of Bangladesh to many others. The visual similarities are unmatched. There is a park right opposite to it which exhibits healthy and happy citizen life. It is also a major bus station in the surrounding.
