Irish Bar & Grill — Restaurant in Colombo

Unethical business practices. Their menu has "Fresh Garden Salad" written twice with different prices. Holding the scanned menu on my phone, I zoomed in and showed the waiter the garden salad I wanted for Rs. 1,100 under "Xtra Sides."

I had no idea that there was ANOTHER "Fresh Garden Salad" for double the price.

After contesting the bill, I was repeatedly told that I should have specified which "Fresh Garden Salad" I wanted; however, I told the manager and owner that I did not know there was another salad of the same name on their menu of about 50+ items. Furthermore, the small salad I was served was not worth Rs. 2,300 so I did not think to flag it as an issue when it arrived.

Given that the customer cannot be expected to have memorized the entire menu, the onus should fall on the restaurant to clarify with the customer which salad they meant to order. Or simply, change the naming convention.

Many others in the pub who overheard my issue agreed with me that the menu is confusing. However, the manager and owner made no attempt to sympathize with their own...

A pleasant experience as a whole. Food was exceptionally good and our waiter was a great guy. If you're looking for a quality eatery open abit later than most, then this place is for you. My only issues were the uncomfortable seats and our dishes missing food. We ordered a 6pc Spicy Chicken Wings, of which we only received 5. We passed it pff as an honest mistake and give the size of the portion and how good it was we didn't press on it or mention it to our waiter. We also got the Bacolicious Pizza, which comprised of, yep, bacon and mozzarella cheese. We absolutely loved how good and sizeable it was and decided we can't finish it in one go and requested it to be taken to go with 5 slices left. However, once we got home with the leftovers, we realised we had only recieved 4 slices of the pizza. So yes despite how delicious the food was, it was annoying and quite disappointing to be robbed of another bite of something...

Parking space isn't much but the can squeeze in few number of cars. As a old mansion olden days has an antique atmosphere.... Service wise in the dark is a bit difficult to identify with waiters and food wise less vegetarian options and when try calling not a many would pay attention and special attention to certain groups keeping ignoring including the management is a pity as all are clients who walk in out from Irish Bar n' Griĺl although their prices are higher than other places I have experience travelling. I do appreciate one good thing; the menu is within the premises and require a smart device and aren't known by others competitors.
