We came here for an early dinner and were so glad we arrived after 5:00 p.m., as the crowd started to pour in by 5:30. The place was almost full!
We'd seen very good reviews about this area, and they were truly accurate. I had the pork shoulder in miso paste, and that was probably one of the best pork jowl dishes I've ever eaten. It was so tender and well-marinated, and every single side dish that came with the set was impeccable.
The tomato beef was also really good – very tender and clearly braised for a long time; it's such a heartwarming dish. Every dish made here is prepared with care, which you can see at the open-air counter.
The vibe of this place was truly immaculate. They even have a small theatre inside where customers can sit while waiting for a table. The food here is exceptionally good, and I've saved this spot to come back again next time.
Regarding the price point, I think it's quite reasonable since they don't charge a service fee. It's up to you if you want to tip, and I appreciate that we're not pressured to.
The cheese pudding-looking dessert I added on as ala carte came with mango syrup. Unfortunately, the mango was too much and too sweet, so I scraped it off. The pudding itself was already pretty...
Read moreI ordered their chicken dinner set, which turned out to be a beautifully arranged tray of nourishing dishes.
The chicken stew was served piping hot in an earthenware pot, topped with fresh green pepper slices. The meat was tender and flavorful, simmered in a savory, slightly sweet broth that made each bite comforting. Alongside it came a bowl of perfectly cooked multigrain rice—nutty, chewy, and deeply satisfying.
The side dishes, neatly laid out in a wooden tray, offered variety in both flavor and texture.
The iced milk tea added a smooth and refreshing touch, perfect to end the meal.
But what truly made the experience memorable was the staff. I wasn’t sure what to order, and the staff kindly stepped in and ordered on my behalf. She was not only attentive but genuinely warm, turning what could’ve been a confusing moment into a gesture of...
Read moreI came here drawn by the great reviews. As a solo traveler, I ordered only the ChuanJiang tofu beef set 川匠豆花牛. The stew offers a nice balance between the refreshing softness of tofu and the rich, meaty flavor of beef, with just the right touch of chili for a gentle kick. That said, the beef was slightly tough, so I’d recommend trying the pork option instead. The texture is particularly interesting, blending silky tofu with a subtle, half-sized peanut. The set also includes six small appetisers/ dessert, making the meal feel complete and satisfying. The ambience is cozy and welcoming—perfect for a relaxed...
