May all be happy.

Wat Phabong is a serene and historically rich temple located in Chiang Mai, Thailand, offering visitors a glimpse into traditional Lanna architecture and Buddhist culture. The temple has a long history dating back to the early years of the Lanna Kingdom, serving as a center of religious learning and community gathering for centuries. Wat Phabong features intricate carvings, beautifully decorated statues, and traditional pagodas, all of which reflect the artistry and cultural heritage of Northern Thailand. The temple grounds are often adorned with lush greenery and vibrant flowers, adding to its tranquil ambiance.

Wat Pha Bong is a small Buddhist monastery in the center of the square of Chiang Mai, right next to the famous Wat Phra Singh Woramahaviharn. Through its multiple signals and messages in different languages, as well as its flowers to decorate its surroundings, the Viharn of the temple invites to the discovery. Inside, the red color is dominant, at the level of the apparent frame, columns or side walls. The latter are also punctuated with frescoes on the life of the Buddha. The altar, at the back of the room, presents several statues, two of which in particular have a sacred character. The largest Buddha first, the one that naturally captures attention by its size, but also the smallest in front of him, with his ushnisha taking the form of a lotus bud, while his legs crossed define the position...

Worth visiting as if you're visiting Temples, you'll have come here to see the much more impressive Wat Phrasingh on the opposite side of the road. I liked the deep resonating gong you're encouraged to hit three times with the hanging mallet and make a wish.
