I love good coffee and love reviewing coffee shops. I travel for a living and I have a degree pertaining to customer experience.
The coffee was excellent. The process and brewing was wonderful. The Latte art was talented, and the popularity showed with the busyness of the shop. They are focused on coffee and it shows.
Thinks I would suggest be improved:
The mission - this is a sustainable, and environmentally sourced company that is supporting a small group of farmers in Thailand. I want to know more! A small pamphlet, or writing on the wall could be very powerful and would add to having customers coming back over and over.
Cleanliness of facility : it seems as though with an incredible focus on making the coffee shine and the flavors speak for themselves, a little more focus could be spent daily on keeping the facility clean. The sink in the bathroom looks like it has been Uncleaned for weeks, and the paper towels were overflowing the two times Iâve been.
Lastly: a little more focus on the presentation of the coffee could go a long way. You spend 5 minutes brewing the perfect pour over and then serve it in a standard mug that isnât special at all. The presentation adds sooo much to the experience, a simple glass cup on a small wooden platter. Many things could make it so much more.
Overall - go check this place out! It is very tasty and has a great mission behind it.

Read moreSad Staff don't seem to be able to offer service. Very disappointed in a cafe that has touts social values claiming to have good relationships with its coffee farms inside Thailand. The in house coffee can be delicious, but is a bit hit and miss, which I can excuse for having good values or friendly service. But today, I received the worst shutdown service ever when inquiring about the grind size of the coffee I purchased for use at home. Something I would think the staff would be trained to be encouraging, being the claim to the shop being linked to happy farmers. I received no solution for my problem, only a telemarketing style "this is our standard procedure' style response and not even a vague attempt at an apology for not being able to help. The staff member just made me like I'm stupid for asking. Either their is no training for dealing with customer feedback or the staff are not treated well by management. Either way, not keen...

Just like in Tokyo, the atmosphere here is absolutely perfectâa peaceful and inviting space to relax after wandering through Chiang Maiâs stunning temples.
The staff are just as warm and welcoming as I remember, making the experience even more special. And of course, the oat milk flat white? Absolutely perfect. Smooth, rich, and crafted with the same care and expertise that made me fall in love with their coffee in the first place.
AKHA AMA Phrasingh is everything I hoped it would be and more. Whether you're a longtime fan or discovering them for the first time, this is a must-visit spot in Chiang Mai!
