Pasto Restaurant — Restaurant in Chiang Mai Province

1 40min wait for starter, only 2 other tables occupied; they said they forgot. 2 1 lamb shank was raw; came back, potatoes on plate were now cold, and got spinach as compensation. 3 waitress speaks no English: she did not even know the word fork. She did not understand 'no' icecream. 4 thai food on the menu only in thai language: are foreigners not allowed to eat thai food? 5 no condiments put on the table, they left them next to the menus. 6 it takes 20min for the waitress to come and clear my empty plate, when I could finally ask for dessert: 2 waitresses were just chatting with each other behind the counter; but at another table, plates got cleared straight after they finished eating! 7 wine glass empty for 30min: no staff came to ask if I wanted another drink. 8 I waited 25min for just an apple tart. 9 the.bill came: full price for apple tart with icecream! Also, no discount for problems. I had to complain to the manager, to get compensation discount. He then apologised for his bad management. In the end, the dessert got scrapped from the bill, but only after I complained; it was not...

Very comfortable and aesthetically pleasing restaurant. Very friendly & attentive staff however most don’t speak English. Their downfall is with their execution and general knowledge of how food is served.

Our starters were brought out at various times and our sides were brought to our table before all the starters were served. We needed to ask them to store our sides so that they aren’t cold by the time we were served our main course. We were then given our main course over an hour after ordering and received cold/raw steak.

I started with the Avocado Crab Salad, good and refreshing. Next I had the Pasta blackink sauce, good and rich flavor. I have never had a taste like this before, I really liked it. Finished off with the Wagyu Ribeye Steak. Served with sauteed potatoes and sautéed spinach. I ordered the beef medium rare and perfect, soft, delicious, I really like it. The black pepper sauce is also good. I didn't have dessert because I was very full. Overall, this restaurant is beautiful, the atmosphere is good, and the employees are attentive.
