One of the Best Markets in Chiang Mai!

This Sunday Night Market is a must-visit when in Chiang Mai. The energy here is incredible—colorful stalls, amazing food, and talented street performers make it a great place to spend an evening.

🛍️ Shopping: So many unique handmade crafts, paintings, clothing, and souvenirs. You can really see the effort artisans put into their work. Prices are reasonable, and bargaining is part of the fun!

🍢 Food: The street food here is fantastic. From grilled skewers, fresh fruit juices, mango sticky rice, to Khao Soi, there’s something for everyone. Everything is fresh, and the flavors are amazing.

🎭 Atmosphere: Despite the crowd, the market feels lively rather than overwhelming. Street musicians and artists create a great vibe, and the red temple in the middle adds a special charm.

The Sunday Walking Street is busy, touristy, crowded, but still so much fun. It’s gigantic and could take a long time to see all of it, but even just visiting a small section is fun. Tons of great street food throughout. Bring cash, especially smaller bills if possible.

By the way, don’t be afraid of street food in Thailand. I ate street food almost everyday for a month, and never had stomach issues. (Whereas I have had stomach issues from food in Mexico, Ecuador, etc…) Just use common sense, and enjoy.

I think it’s a nice market to visit if you’re in Chiang Mai, it's open only on Sunday, but be prepared, it's extremely crowded. I arrived at 4:30 PM to be one of the first so it's great, BUT from 6 PM until midnight, it gets absolutely packed with people. So if you want to avoid the crowds as much as possible, come right at the start.

There’s a ton of foods with all kinds of options, so definitely come hungry! You’ll also find lots of clothing at cheap prices, as well as paintings, unique bags, and souvenirs.
