The women of this massage center are amazing: professional, kind, and devoted to their work. The prison system is one of humanityâs cruelest inventions, and leaving it after enduring it does not make life any easier. We must support opportunities for rehabilitation over recidivism / punishment. The women of this center have created a lovely community with warm vibes: when not massaging, they are hanging out, playing with their pet birds & other little animals, and supporting each other. On top of that, the massage was AMAZING! After a few weeks, traveling around SE Asia, we ended our trip with a back massage (and they gave us an extra short leg massage without additional costs). It was the best thing we did for our bodies after weeks of walking / straining our muscles. Our masseuse helped us stretch muscles that i did not know needed stretching, and they eased a lot of the tension I was feeling in my mid-&-lower back. It is not a high-end, super-expensive boutique spa, which is where some of the more negative reviews may stem from, but it gets the job done (a great body massage), so if thatâs what youâre looking for, give this place a look. Personally, I 10/10 recommend. Friendly vibes, a...
Read moreAbsolutely the worst experience and massage i I ever had. I donât understand how this place is still in business... they are praying on a less experienced, typical Chinese tourists (place was packed by Chinese) and who donât care about the quality at all. Here are some of the highlights:
there is a one big room full of beds and the masseuses are talking to each other across the room and laughing. Cant relax at all. Feels like a conveyer belt massage where they donât really care about the quality.
the masseuses never touches your actual skin and puts on any oil. The whole massage is done through a cloth. Not comfortable at all!
the masseuses have no experience at all, I believe they only hire ex-convicts and this being their marketing / sales point for a someone to brag âI had a massage by ex-convictâ
its more expensive than most, 250 baht for 1 hr massage. (200 baht is a norm in Chiang Mai)
I traveled pretty much the whole world and had massages everywhere I went and this was by far the WORST massage I ever had where I walked out half way into it.
TAKE MY ADVICE AND...
Read moreWent in July 2018. Had a fairly good massage here. Took 1-hour Thai massage for 250B. Had to wait around 20min before served, fully booked. Anyway, it was worth the wait. As it happened, customer was all tourist. Don't wear bulky clothing, and don't bring big rucksack or shopping bags here. All belongings and clothes should go into a small locker, and you got the key to hold while being treated. Communal room, no curtain. Mostly quiet ambience, the masseuses occasionally talked among each other but not much. But I had amusing scenes around me of the reactions of tourist being folded, twisted and yanked unexpectedly. Lots of omg, and ruder or ridiculous terms being used there :) Everyone around including the masseuses were laughing good-naturedly on hearing every outburst. I did enjoy the friendly atmosphere. And no, there was not even one thing indicated that they were ex-prisoners. But the place could be very busy at certain times, so be prepared to wait, or have other place for alternative options, as in the similar place just...
