Im a local and I ve been here multiple times since the opening of this branch. I give:

1 star for the food 1 star for Chef's dedication 1 star for waiters' hardwork

I would like to give multiple minuses to the owner due to there could have been improvements like:

need to have food condiments and tea pitcher on both 1st and 2nd floor, instead of having your waitress running around here and there, up and down the stairs. Today I waited 20 mins and asked the waitress 4 times for my tea. The waitress also didn't pay enough attention at every table adequately.

need to better train the waitress as the service becomes worse whenever there are too many customers. According to what I see this number of waiters could only handle 1 floor of customers. This comment should also apply to how many chefs in the kitchen.

some waitress easily mistaken the food name, like when I asked for something, the response was another. It s not a big issue for Thais but inadequate communication could have confused tourists.

overall operation and manpower level must be improved or consider doing the business under your actual level of...

This place never disappoints every time I visit. Their signatures I usually order are either the "Claypot Rice w/ Pork Ribs" or "Claypot Noodles w/ Pork Ribs". They will serve you with the claypot piping hot, which helps create the crunchy rice/noodle crust in the inner edges of the claypot. The pork ribs are marinated and covered with thick brownish sauce that seeps into the rice/noodles as well, creating a strong savoury taste with the tender meat.

This time, I tried the "Claypot Rice w/ Minced Pork" and it was delicious as well. It has a nice mixture of flavours with the minced pork simmered in soy-based sauce and a egg yolk on top of it. As you stir everything together, the yolk mixes with the hot soy-based sauce and coats the rice, providing a warm, silky and savoury dish.

If you plan to visit during peak dining hours (around lunch or dinner time), it’s best to make a reservation since it can get pretty crowded and the wait might be long. I would highly recommend trying this if you’re visiting to...

Delivery menu is quite appealing, but for dining-in experience, it can be better. The branch has nice China chic design, but space is limited, only a few tables at 1st floor.

Food and service is in general ok, but taste could be richer flavor, and menu/pricing can be more flexible to align with limited capacity: currently soup and some menu is for 3-4 pax. Variety is lower than expectation. Some suggedtions to owner:

maybe can consider providing 1 or 2 pax portion for nutrition soup. For clay pot dishes, can add more variations or even allow choosing toppings. I also recommend HK style rice with steamed minced pork with egg

focus on clay pot or healthy Chinese soup varieties, but no need to create too many common Chinese dishes

Toilet seems not working for this visit. Drink itself is not cooled (but need to charge extra on ice).

But overall it could be another nice and econ foodie option...

It’s not as boring as fried rice and it’s more pleasing than Hainan chicken rice. Claypot king has eased my food boredom. All of the five pots that we had were flavorful and pungent. The chicken and pork ribs were succulent. My only dissatisfaction was the pot with salted black olive. It should have been more olives. There wasn’t enough sense and taste of olive. The pot with Taro and ginkgo nut brought back good memories of me and my grandmother. While we were eating, we kept talking about how the sauce and juice from meat dripped down on the rice to make it smell so appetizing. The shrimp roll is first rate and pan fried ginkgo nut ( sweet and salty) was very enjoyable. The staff are very polite. Despite the language barrier, they really took good care of us. Well, I must say, my compliments to the chef. I’d love to come back and eat your food again.

A small restaurant that has been running for over 30 years and has received a face-lift into a lovely modern eatery with a few seats downstairs and upstairs. Unless you go for an early lunch by 11 (which we fortunately did), you should definitely book a table. The food service was very, very slow. Staff were friendly and seemed clueless. The shrimp rolls, claypot rice with chicken, we had was tasty, although the claypot noodle with pork ribs which we had to wait for more than an hour, was overcooked and soggy. The ribs were not as tender as we had hoped for. Ginseng chicken soup was also good (maybe a bit bland for some) and of a generous portion for 3 of us to share. Stir-fried green beans dish was surprisingly on a sweet side. There was a long queue of people ordering takeaways, which may explain the slow food service from the kitchen.
