The first time went here was not impressive because we didn’t order recommended dishes so we decided to come back and try again. The second was very impressive.
Food we ordered are Minced pork in sour plum soup: This is recommended menu but we felt so so for this. Minced pork was ok but soup was too sour for us.
Smoked duck: This is must try! It was great. Smoked duck smelled good and got along with garlic and chili.
Fried Red Pork: This one is recommended as well. They claimed that they marinated the red pork with more than 10 spices. This pork tasted good and not too greasy.
Tom yum kung: This is not on a recommended dishes page but I really love it. Tom yum soup was mellow and was not too spicy.
5.Stir fried clams with roasted chili paste: calms were very fresh. Sauce was so good. This is must try if you’re a fan of clams.
Salted Egg spicy salad: this was ok but didn’t have anything special. You can skip this one.
White Chinese garlic chives with crispy pork: this dish was too greasy and tasteless. However, crispy pork was good.
The restaurant is located on the road so in a night time there’s a chance that mosquitoes will bite you so be careful if you’re allergic to them.
The service is ok following prices which not that expensive. Nevertheless, quality and taste of food here are good and reasonable for...
Read moreJae Suay, while an established and fairly well-known staple of the greater Yaowarat area, can still surprise even a repeat visitor.
You'll always get the same level of fair to above-average Thai-Chinese food, but each visit brings with it a new experience.
Whether it be an owner berating customers for no reason (or accusing them of attempting to avoid paying, as she did with us, only to be immediately humbled by the rest of the staff), or a two hour wait for food, you'll always get more—or less—than you bargained for.
Come for the smog-ridden outdoor seating and roadside ambiance, stay for the verbally abusive owner screaming at her customers. If you like Thai-Chinese food but hate yourself, or you miss being yelled at by your absent parents, this place will tick all your boxes.
1/10, will not be back again. Sorry to the rest of the staff, y'all were just doing your best and didn't deserve to be lumped in...
Read moreVery near the station MRT Wat Mangkok, exit Plaeng Nam, instead of eating at the very touristic Chinatown area on right side, we go left side and find this place packed with local people. One nice lady speaks basic English and checks clearly with us our level of spicy and makes sure we know the dish content before validating our order where we just write down the corresponding numbers in a paper provided. We order a so yummy stir-fried moonflower dish, boiled pork with its good dipping sauce (the fat part makes it juicy), the seafood vermicelli (too fishy taste due to the pieces of smoked squid), the fresh pork blood with minced pork and a rice with mixed vegetables. During our dinner, we see a few customers ordering plum soup with homemade minced pork balls. Will try for our next visit. Good quality-price, as less than THB 500 in total, including another plain rice and a soda water...
