Asisi Panometer Berlin (€10 per person) is an innovative attraction at Checkpoint Charlie that makes for a nice complement to the variety of museums and Berlin Wall related landmarks in the area. Visitors will see a large panoramic image of a divided Berlin, from the vantage point of a ground floor and second floor platform in West Berlin, looking into no man's land between the Wall and then into East Berlin. The Panorama Wall takes on an almost 3-dimension scene from the 1980s. You will see people living normal lives on the West Berlin side, wondering what it must be like to be and live on the Eastern side. The lights are dimmed from time to time, focusing on particular areas of the Panorama Wall. You will hear neighbourhood sounds that help create atmosphere as well. You can comfortable see the Panorama Wall for 10-20 minutes before or after visiting the Blackbox, Museum Haus am Checkpoint Charlie and the landmark Checkpoint Charlie. Note: There is a combo ticket that you can purchase for (€12.5) that includes entry to the BlackBox Museum. You can save €2.5 per person if you plan to visit both attractions during your time around Checkpoint Charlie.

We stumbled upon this exhibition by chance and decided to give it a look. We were not disappointed. The exhibition is about the former East and West Berlin, from the beginnings of when the wall was built to its demolishing many years later. The exhibition starts with a photo wall, which shows the live on the east and west side. The personal stories behind these photographs made it even more impressive and touching. The highlight of this exhibition is the panoramic experience, where it feels like you are actually living in that time, standing in front of the wall. The audio files that are mixed in, together with the depressing music and the daytime and nighttime shifts make it a very real experience, where people like me, who were born in a united Germany, get a great impression of what live had been like in those years. Definitely check it out!

It was fascinating to see the amazing panoramic view of the Berlin Wall from the perspective of the painter on the west side of the wall in 1980. We can slightly see the difference between the west and east sides of the wall. This artwork is massive, which is very impressive! It took 5 years to complete it. My pictures cannot do the justice! There is also a little bit information about history of the wall too. Overall, we enjoyed this attraction. During our previous visit to Berlin, we didn't notice this place. If you like history and art, you will enjoy this place.

If you want to go back in time and try to understand what it was like behind the wall in eastern Berlin, this is a great exhibition. There are walls of photos depicting life before and leading up to the fall of the Berlin Wall. In adjacent room, there is a life-size mural with lighting and music that makes you feel as if you were there. The artists did an amazing job with the concept of the exhibition...

You wouldn't think much of it, at first, but it charms you after several more minutes. The panorama represents a fictitious autumn day in the 1980s; scale 1:1. it's accompanied by sound and lights and you can climb a platform to check the highest points - it seems so real! I had no idea about this method of creating images and art. the artist is called Yadegar Asisi, I recommend seeing the exhibition!

Went here one day after Roger Waters' The Wall in September 2013. Compared to Dresden and Leipzig, it's far smaller but esp. for this subject it's fitting. Vocals about the Berlin Wall, the darkness and the constricting density of the panorama make for an authentic feeling. The video snippets from GDR times are also interesting. Well done, Mr Asisi, worth every cent.
