A fantastic museum for anyone with an interest in cars or this piece of the GDR's history. It's quite small, and takes no more than 30 minutes, but had a greater selection of cars and interesting exhibits than I was expecting, including early prototypes through to end of production, with some modified and special Trabi's in-between! There's an origininal Trabant 601 that you can sit in, too, which makes a nice change from most car museums where every vehicle is cordoned off as they're too precious.
The museum is well laid out with good information sheets in both German and English, and is just a 2 minute walk from Checkpoint Charlie.

Read moreNot the biggest museum but still interesting. They had around 15 cars with cases of memorabilia. There was also a threatre room showing a really interesting piece on the history of the development, downfall and renaissance of the Trabant.
As a petrol head, would I recommend it? At 9 Euros for an Adult I thought it was quite expensive but I'm glad I went to see it. The gift store is free entry but full of general tourist tat.
