In a city filled with countless restaurants to choose from, we decided to have our dinner at Gurme Kebab and it turned out to be a great choice. The atmosphere was lively yet comfortable, with a welcoming vibe that immediately put us at ease.
We ordered several dishes, including Testi Kebab, Adana Kebab, Isgara Kofte and KIRANÉT TAVUK. Each dish was served fresh and had its own unique flavors, showcasing the rich variety of Turkish cuisine. The Testi Kebab, cooked in a clay pot, was especially memorable, as it came with a little show when the pot was cracked open.
One of the highlights of our experience was the service. One waiter, in particular, stood out with his funny and cheerful personality. He kept making jokes and interacting with the diners, which added a touch of fun to the meal. He even told us that people call him the “crazy chef,” and his energy certainly lived up to the nickname.
The restaurant itself was clean and well-kept, with a cozy interior that made it an enjoyable place to dine. It was clear that the staff took pride in making sure guests felt welcome and had a good time.
Overall, it was a nice experience dining at Gurme Kebab. The delicious food, friendly service and entertaining staff made it a meal to remember. If you’re in the area, it’s definitely worth a visit for a hearty Turkish meal with a side...
Read moreThis was first meal on Goreme since it was very close to our hotel and we had a long of traveling. The people were all very friendly and yhe atmosphere was great albeit a little too touristy. The food however was very so so. We ordered an appetizer of the ground meat wrapped in dough and they just tasted like ground beef wrapped on dough, no real seasoning. Bland. For my main meal I had a beef steak dish and although it was nice and smoky it was rather bland. I don't think I've ever cooked a slab of beef and had it come out so bland. It came with a side of a sald made of onions and mint and it just tasted like onions. I expected more sauce or some more seasoning in everything being in Turkey and everything but it wasn't to be. Perhaps the pottery kebabs are better but they were fairly expensive. It seems all the restaurants along the main street really jacked up their prices over the past year. Check out some off the street options for better prices and more delicious versions of the things you find along the main street. We won't go here again since we have since discovered places with gar better prices and with...
Read moreI recently visited the restaurant and, to be honest, I was surprised by the disparity between the positive reviews and the experience I had. Unfortunately, I found the quality of the food to be below expectations, especially given the prices. At the end of the day, I left feeling that the meal was unsatisfactory. What was most troubling was the manner in which the payment process was handled. They don’t inform that the card machine is not working and I was encouraged to pay in cash. Upon attempting to withdraw cash from an ATM, I was subjected to high fees. I found it concerning that this practice appeared to be aimed specifically at tourists. Furthermore, there was no gesture of appreciation, such as a thank you or a discount, for the inconvenience caused. This experience left me with the impression that the business is more focused on generating profit in an unfair manner rather than providing a quality service to customers. It’s deeply disappointing to see such practices in a business that should be focused on customer satisfaction. One word:...
