One of the employees is discriminatory against eastern europeans. Me and my mother were trying to buy a bottle of gin and because I look "young" (aka because we were speaking a foreign language) I was asked for my ID, which was then refused because it was an EU ID card (Eastern Europe) and the cashier couldn't be bothered and refused to even look over it. She was rude and lacked any manners as well. I work in retail with products with age restrictions too, so I do know the regulations and EU identity cards are accepted everywhere by Challenge 25 unless clearly advertising otherwise. I did not make a complaint or asked for the manager because for a moment I was in shock with her attitude towards me and my mum and she rushed us out before I even managed to process everything. But if the management is not looking into it and it all happens again I have the right to make a formal complaint and I cannot stand for this kind of behavior. It happened Sunday 21/07/2019 around 5pm in your Union Street shop. This only happened to me there and only when she was in the shift, so it is clearly not a company policy or if it is, it was not clearly advertised as advised in the Challenge 25 norms nor consistently applied, resulting in a very humiliating moment which ruined an otherwise lovely day. Discrimination is something I...
Read moreI'm in there around twice a month. A predatory security guard, whose ethnicity I won't mention, attempted to collide with me shortly after I walked in. After I made purchases and was walking to the door, he came up behind me and barged into my shoulder. My complaint and CCTV request resulted in a disc being sent to me with no data or writing on it. Statute Law states that all video is to be supplied but the second disc they sent had the first incident missing and the second incident was shown from a long distance away. The coop did this to avoid liability. I strongly recommend making a CCTV request if you have similar abusive treatment from any employee. The security guard who is probably notorious still now stalks me at a distance. Any further incidents will result in the police being called...
