What a magical experience! I was at the Spa on July 31st for The Highlands treatment with the lovely Camilla. This mystical celtic massage is launching in September and should be on everyone's 'to do' list!
I opted for a firm massage as this is exactly what I needed to get rid of those stressy knots!
The treatment room is suffused with an earthy herbal aroma with a cool green vibe - you can imagine yourself surrounded by gorse and heather, atop an ancient hill.
The massage is delivered using The Highlands massage bar and volcanic hot stones that soothe and relax away any tension and tightness. I loved the bit where the hot stone is rested in your open, upwards palm at the end of that segment of the treatment. Most of the treatment involves lying on your front, but you are on your back towards the end.
The stirring soundtrack of drums, pipes and fiddles is accompanied by Gaelic songs by Scottish musicians and really resonated with me, having grown up listening to folk music from a young age.
The treatment is very personal, too. The beginning involves selecting some runic carved stones. These tactlie pebbles are threaded with fossilised seaweed and have silvery symbols carved into them. They tumble out of The Highlands knotwrap cloth, and you find yourself drawn to the ones that speak to you.
I selected The Wave, The Eye, and The Village. The possible meanings or implications of these three seemed particularly relevant to this point in time - especially The Wave. If you are in need of a super soothing and restorative massage with a magical element, then this treatment is a must!
Huge, huge thanks to Camilla for such a blissful and therapeutic experience today - it was more wonderful than I could have imagined.
My daughter had her first Lush Spa experience today - the Fresh Facial Treatment. Becca was so considerate and kind! The tailored products chosen were perfect and super soothing and calming.
I should also mention the amazing Birmingham Spa team that we met today - the wonderful welcome from Manager Amera, the very helpful Mel and Amber at the Spa Reception and Lewis who cut us a fresh slice of Alban Arthan Winter Solstice soap and was super friendly!
Well done, Team Birmingham - this has been simply the best day, and you have truly given us a five star experience...
Read moreI popped into the Lush store in Birmingham recently, not really knowing what to expect. Iâd never been to a Lush before, so it was all completely new to me. Honestly, the whole experience was amazing, and a big part of that was thanks to one of the team members working there.
As I was walking by, I noticed someone inside making what looked like a bath bomb right there in front of the window. It immediately caught my eye. When I went inside, she greeted me warmly and, from the very start, was incredibly welcoming and easy to talk to.
She took the time to explain what Lush is all about: fresh, handmade products, ethical sourcing, being cruelty-free, and their commitment to sustainability. It wasnât in a salesy or pushy way at all. It felt more like someone genuinely sharing something they love and believe in. You could tell she really cares about the work she does.
What really stood out was how she made me feel comfortable and excited to learn more. She showed us around the store and even gave us a little tour of the spa area upstairs, which I honestly didnât even know existed. It was such a relaxing and beautiful space, and now I canât stop thinking about booking a treatment. It felt like a hidden retreat right in the middle of the city.
She also offered us a few samples to try at home, which was such a thoughtful touch. It just made the whole visit feel personal and special. I left the store feeling completely uplifted and really impressed, not just by the products but by the entire vibe and the people behind it.
Itâs rare these days to walk into a store and leave feeling like youâve just had a proper, genuine experience rather than just being sold to. So a big thank you to the lovely staff member (I believe her name was Kuri). You truly made our day.
Iâll definitely be back soon, next time for a...
Read moreOn Sunday I had the pleasure of having 2 spa treatments gifted to me by my daughter as Christmas and birthday presents.
My first spa treatment was Synaesthesia, 80 minutes of pure bliss. From a list of words you select one that resonates with you, and the room is set up with low level coloured lighting and fragrances that link to that word; my word choice resulted in the room being one of my favourite colours. The massage bed was lovely and warm and comfortable, and you listened to an orchestra playing different pieces of music interspersed with birdsong.
The therapist I had was Emily who was really lovely, softly spoken and with a very calm manner. The treatment included a full body massage, some hot stone massage which I love, a tummy massage and facial massage. Emily was excellent, using exactly the right amount of pressure for me when performing the massage. She was also very careful to protect my dignity when I was changing position on the massage bed, and I never felt that more of my body was being exposed than was absolutely necessary.
After a 15 minute break to relax and have a drink, I started my second spa treatment. I had chosen the Sound Bath as I love having a sound bath when at home. This was a wonderful experience, lying on the massage bed under a duvet, listening to sounds of nature, singing bowls and tuning forks whilst having a face and scalp massage. After the massage I had Hopi ear candling which I have had in the past and really enjoy. The whole treatment was so relaxing that I nearly fell asleep!
I thoroughly enjoyed both my spa treatments. The ambience of the spa is very calm and relaxing, and all the spa staff I met (Emily, Cam and Sam) were lovely. I'm very much looking forward to coming back to the Lush Spa in Birmingham to experience more of their...
