Good but the amusements were fixed so never win anything. The ones along the strip are way better, I highly recommend Golden Mile amusements. They say Coral Island is the main one in Blackpool but it was nothing compared to The Golden Mile. I won tons from there as was doable and I'm good at timing etc. So giving it 3 stars but if go for amusements then I don't recommend that. The shows there are good but they make you buy tickets to get on a lot but still pay cash for prize games at stalls etc. You'll pay 30 quid for 30 tickets and 60 quid for 70 tickets and it costs at least 4 tickets per ride per person so they go fast but if you don't want to return for a few days and you have any tickets left, they won't be usable after 48 hours of buying them. You get 2 whole days diluting day until closes which is early during the week too FYI. It was so boring in Blackpool during the weeknights as even the amusements close at 9 pm at the latest on a good day and everywhere seemed to be falling apart. Leaky roofs etc in places everywhere. If want racier, faster shows to go on and you have money to waste then Pleasure Beach where there are roller coasters galore. It wasn't for me as I hate heights. Anyway, the central pier is nothing to write home about unless you count the gorgeous seaside scenery that comes with it. Stunning views and I recommend the views there too but money shouldn't be wasted on trying to win things there as that's a rip-off. Maybe the odd little plush for your kids but nothing money-wise. 💰 👎for the scenery you'll see around it on the outside I give it big 👍👌🫶👌👍 in the pic we are on the pier or next to it rather but can see the strip in the background. At the weekend Blackpool is amazing but during the week everything shuts early so all we had then was the hotel room which was crap, beech Hotel, falling apart and not even a mini fridge or good TV (it's nothing like advertises on the site) It is run-down mostly apart from the pub and breakfast room. The rooms are pokey and 4 of us were crammed even though it's advertised as fancy and modern, it was a rip-off and way too expensive. Over a thousand quid for 1 crappy pokey musky smelling room. I'd have arachnophobia like my son then it's a defo no no.1 was in the light constantly moving so shadowed and freaky all week. The staff may be polite downstairs at first but then they charge the next time you meet them. I also don't recommend that place. No amenities in the room are non-existent and, there are dirty soap dishes and floors when going in. The beds are solid too and so uncomfortable. Also, everything is old and janky but not antique old, just stinky old and smells like it too. They don't even tody the room once while you're there. I failed to see what the price extortion was for. Putting their greedy hands out for money for zero efforts put in by them. The worst. False advertising. I mean check it up and then see what I wrote then you'll see. Was supposed to be posh and full of amenities but it had nothing. My poor mother-in-law paid for a holiday since she found out she has cancer and not long to live too, and even though we gave ourselves a good time just for the kids it was a waste of the thousands she spent on it. They falsely advertise all. It's like getting catfished by Blackpool and a hotel too. Lol. Though...

Read moreOMG! Blackpool! I will never go there again. What an awful place. It was soul-destroying. There were groups of very unsavoury looking characters littering the streets - just literally sitting on the pavements (so you had to walk around them) drinking and looking totally out of it.
The general state of the place was depressing. It felt a little bit unsafe to tell the truth. Just off the front, the buildings were in a poor state of repair and some looked derelict. Not what you'd expect from a big seaside resort.
When I think of some European seaside resorts - tree lined promenades, pleasant bars and restaurants to while away a few hours. Not Blackpool! Not a bit of greenery in sight. Just vast swathes of poorly maintained walkways. We passed an advertised, 'family friendly' pub with a no-drugs allowed warning notice next to one advertising home cooked food! Not really enticing. I felt sorry for the owners.
We did venture onto one of the piers - Central Pier - and to be fair the grandchildren had a fabulous time on the rides and eating ice-cream. We then walked a little way to see what else was on offer, but I can't say that was enjoyable. We went into Coral Island - a huge arcade and had a good time playing on the machines. The place was well kept and had a lot to offer - except for accesible toilets. I couldn't find one. To make matters worse, the main toilet facilities were down some steps which for my wheelchair bound wife led to a very difficult and embarrasing task.
After spending just 3 hours in Blackpool, my wife and I left vowing never to return.
What an embarrassment to anybody visiting from overseas!
Blackpool Council need a tremendous amount of help from Central government to clean up...
