I will be honest I saw the amount of reviews/rating this establishment has this is one of many reasons I choose this over other establishments in the area.
I attended The Sea Fish & Chips with my Mrs on Monday 11/07/22 around 17:55.
It was about just under half full so wasn’t majorly busy and the staff are friendly on the counters – think I figured out the owner he was super nice also.
The part of the shop where the fish is being made looks small until you go to other side and they have loads of seating (where the ice cream counter is) which I where I chose to sit as it was more private when we visited. You can also eat outside but I didn’t want to risk it as the seagulls are lurking around the area.
We ordered:
Small Cod & Chips with Peas Chicken Pop Corn & Chips with Gravy 1 x Coke Can 1 x Orange Juice Bottle Heinz Mayo Sauce Tub (Which I forgot at the counter now thinking about it)
Total = £22.20
I have read some people say state it is pricey (I can understand this as other patrons may see this a just a chippy/takeaway) but I thought it was just a little more expensive that I was expecting but is worth it for the food and hospitality.
Food took around 10-12 minutes so wasn’t that bad but then again, they weren’t extremely busy.
They have the piece of plastic equipment which has your table number on it and it vibrates and pings when your food is ready you can see it above the receipt on my image (I thought was genius piece of kit as you don’t need to keep going to the counter or asking staff how long for food).
Food-wise no complaints at all from me fish was great, peas good, chips were fine, Mrs she liked the pop corn chicken but wasn’t a big fan of the chunky chips (she prefers fries) but she said it wasn’t a big issue, if I was being really picky, I would suggest the oil would need changing in the chips fryer (my uncle own takeaway so I could tell they way they were cooked) but they were still okay to eat. They use provide the food in thick paper boxes and cutlery is wooden not big issue for me and it’s good for the environment.
To Muslim patrons everything is Halal apart from the pies – the lady serving me advised of this. As you don’t need to fry pies, I was happy to eat from here.
They have disabled, male and female toilets all are separate compared to other places just having one, which is another bonus.
If you’re lucky you can park on the side streets (if you can manage to find a spot!) if not there is parking very close to here on York Street there are 2 sites for parking on either side of the street.
I have only eaten from here once I would 100% recommend this food establishment to my family...
Read moreAbsolutely blown away by The Sea Fish and Chip Shop in Blackpool – this place deserves every bit of praise and more!
From the moment we stepped inside, we were greeted with a warm, genuine welcome from Mustafa, who completely elevated our experience. It wasn’t just good customer service – it was hospitality at its finest. Mustafa was polite, attentive, and genuinely passionate about making sure we had a great meal. He treated us like valued guests, not just customers, and you could tell he takes real pride in what he does.
Now, the food – wow! Without exaggeration, this was the best fish and chips we’ve ever had. The batter was light, crispy, and golden without a hint of grease. The fish was perfectly cooked – flaky, tender, and full of flavour. The chips were proper traditional – thick cut, fluffy inside, and just the right amount of crisp on the outside. We could tell everything had just been freshly made, and you really taste the difference.
Mustafa made sure we had everything fresh and piping hot – no shortcuts, no reheats, just quality food served with care. He even took the time to check on us during the meal, offer extras, and make sure we were happy with everything. Honestly, his attitude alone would’ve made us come back, but paired with food this good, it’s a no-brainer.
Places like this are rare – where you get top-tier food and service that feels personal and genuine. We’ll definitely be coming back, and we’ll be telling everyone we know about this gem of a spot.
If you’re in Blackpool and fancy proper fish and chips, skip the rest and head straight to The Sea. And if Mustafa’s serving – you’re in...
Read moreStay well clear, the food was okay but the manager with his aggressive provoking people skills are something that needs addressing.
Paid for steak and kidney pudding, got minced beef and onion. Went to the counter to tell them politely they'd got my order incorrect. Only to be aggressively shown a steak pudding from the fridge, whilst being told it was steak and I was wrong. So that's three types of pudding he doesn't know the difference between.
I was offered a refund which I refused as he said there were no steak and kidney puddings. So I thought I'd go with the mince for change. Didn't actually eat it in the end as the whole chippy experience was ruined....thanks for that.
Why was I not told after ordering from the machines there were no puddings I'd payed for, so I could choose something else?
Why speak to a customer in such an aggressive provoking manner?
Stay away, go to lilys next door, where the kid that runs it knows how to speak to people, plus they have the best fish and chips, shame it was closed.
Look at the replies to other reviews, it's everybody...
