Lovely afternoon out, we had lunch lasagne was stunning, nice light layers, beautiful flavours. Nuggets looked quality chicken. The trays aren't good taking drinks upstairs they slide all over tray, nearly split a few times. But the view and food was perfect. Looking round was lovely cute jelly fish and tiny starfish, stingray etc, so much to see. Staff was lovely in the gift shop, and they lady in chair when have to scan in. The staff when you go in notcso great, lots of them, no one in front of us, but no one wanting to make eye contact to book us in, felt bit weird, no advice on how and wer to go, so paid and went through.. no signs to say this way, we went to get in lift, and said no entry.. wasn't sure so headed up to cafe... which turned our to be the way in too.. 2 other ladies joined us in lift to, said same thing had no idea way in to start walk around. So lots of staff on reception, 1st thing you see walking in... not warm, friendly, really lacking in customer service. The cafe staff, lady dishing out, not great, no warmth or friendliness, when we paid younger lady nicer, but nothing much.. The lady when scan in, nice warm and welcoming, explained how we scan in and had a little laugh, she was lovely.. Walking round was so nice my daughter loved it.. strange guy though, part of the team I guess to makesure your nor doing anything wrong.. but God he made me feel like he was keeping an eye on us, the large glass display with turtles, sharks etc he kept walking in front of the barrier and then stopping at the right side were we was stood, so couldn't see.. like move or stand tight at the end not in front of us, I don't take my daughter out enough, you dont pay tgat price to have securityblocking your view.., he sees them all the time all day, move your ass.. then looking at the tiny starfish he came lingering round.. like some creepy security guard, strolling along. The guy in gift shop was lovely, friendly and welcoming, and the walk around was so calming and lovely, a really nice day out. The penguins looked so sad though, we went about 5 years ago and had so many, they was so active. Swimming and all over, this time they was mainly stood, the unit looked sad and not big enough, would love to see more room for them, natural light, more water, maybe something like tunnels in water, just felt sorry for them.

The Deep is a great place to visit for anyone interested in learning about the ocean and its inhabitants. The aquarium has a wide variety of fish and other sea creatures, as well as interactive exhibits that teach visitors about marine life. The Deep is also a great place for families, as there are plenty of activities for kids of all ages. The aquarium is divided into different zones, each of which focuses on a different part of the ocean. The Tropical Seas zone is home to fish from the Caribbean, South America, and Africa. The Temperate Seas zone features fish from the North Atlantic and North Pacific. The Arctic Seas zone has fish from the Arctic Ocean. And the Deep Ocean zone has fish from the deepest parts of the ocean. In addition to the fish, The Deep also has a number of other sea creatures, including sharks, rays, and turtles. There is also a touch pool where visitors can get up close and personal with some of the sea creatures. The Deep also has a number of interactive exhibits that teach visitors about marine life. One of the most popular exhibits is the Tides exhibit, which shows how the tides work. The Deep also has an exhibit on coral reefs, an exhibit on pollution in the ocean, and an exhibit on endangered sea creatures. The Deep is a great place to learn about the ocean and its inhabitants. It is also a great place for families, as there are plenty of activities for kids of all ages. I would definitely recommend The Deep to anyone interested in learning about the ocean. Here are some specific details about my experience: * The aquarium was very clean and well-maintained. * The staff were friendly and knowledgeable. * The exhibits were interactive and educational. * There was plenty to see and do, especially for young kids. * The price was reasonable. Overall, I had a great experience at The Deep. I would definitely recommend it to anyone interested in learning about the ocean.

We loved seeing the penguins and the sword fish in the viewing tunnel best. We enjoyed the interactive displays, especially the microscopes and 'paint a fish' virtual displays. Staff on reception were very friendly and helpful and there was no queue at all to get in. We pre-booked our time slot online. It took around 1hr 45 minutes to go around, and we took our time reading the info boards. We felt for the price paid there were some missed opportunities which would have made the experience so much better. Some kind of audio tour via an accompanying app would have been great - we found it quite difficult to hear the spoken exhibits due to the noise of school groups and other kids who were understandably excited. There was also no map (that we saw or were offered) which would have helped orientate us. There also could be more staff interaction and some talks or guided experiences. I suspect much staff time was taken up with the school parties on the day of our visit, however, this should be taken into account to ensure all visitors have a good experience. We were disappointed to find the bubble lift was not working. This meant visitors with pushchairs had to carry them up multiple flights of stairs if they were to see the views on each level of the tube. Finally, when we reached the cafe at the end it was very busy but the entire upstairs extra seating was closed so we ended up taking our food back to the car to eat. Nice that each ticket is an annual pass so we may visit again and update the review.

Went here for a day out as it was raining hard and set in for the day. This is a great wet weather option! It cost us £65 for 3 adults but we chose the option where we can go back as many times as we like for a year; conscious if we have friends visiting it’s an option. I thought the facility itself was great, some lovely displays of fish and sea life including penguins which has to be a fave, their tank includes an underwater viewing area a so many of the tanks. There is a short walk under water in a dome that surrounds you, personally I would like to see this expanded as it’s truly immersive. There is a cafe as you would expect and the obligatory gift shop. Wheel chair access and buggy access is good with lifts to the various floors; multiple toilet facilities and WiFi complete the functionality of the aquarium. Information boards are decent meaning you can always find out what you’re looking at along with extra information, personally I’d like to see more information. For example on a couple of now extinct species, no reason was given as to why they had become extinct; I had to jump on Google to find out. You can book tickets in advance but the reception said there is no need because even at busy times they can fit you in.
