In need of the currently planned multi million refurb, this will ultimately be a lovely place. The victorian Spa building, and lift are impressive and the history of course interesting. We drove in from the far north end where parking and sea views over the sea wall are ample for about half a mile. After that, past the entertainment and pier and further on to the quiet spar, sea front and lovely deserted beach. Although we sat on the sea wall with our trusty and cheap flask of tea, there was a brasserie and bar open with outdoor tables too. There is ample disabled and normal parking. A short walk past the spar and cliff lift is a welcome disabled toilet if you have a 'radar' key. The loo was stainless steel, basic and too low, but.....any port in a storm! You'll need a partner to help you...
Read moreWent to scarbourgh on the Saturday guy at the top was nice enough the views on the way down were nice and it's a real time and leg saver but 2 stars as the woman at the bottom when we went to pay was very rude we were a large group of 26 and the first 20 who went down ( a full carriage) she complained as soon as the doors were open that the carriage was packed and seemed extremely unhappy about it a few of us tried to pay with £10 and £5 notes which she complained about constantly while we were paying asking for exact change as she didn't want to use her change we were paying returns usually in couples so there wasn't a lot of change from a fiver totally miserable would hate to see her on a bank...

Slightly cheaper to go down the hill £1.00 per person under 5's free. My kids loved the experience. Unfortunately it was a really wet and windy day, hence no photos attached to my review but still an experience! I would recommend this to anyone, there is enough room for prams and wheelchairs, you can also take dogs on (provided they are on a leash). Accessible entrance and exit, I didn't have to fold down the pram which was a big bonus. There are other cliff lifts in Scarborough and they are all worth a go, but this is the steepest and longest...
